I like the free Internet and the friendly staff. This pub is next a busy main road with HGVs thundering past. It is a little too cold at night in the room and the food is just about ok. There is a door at the back of the main bar area which everyone uses where if the prorietor took some time could adjust the hydraulics and stop the almighty slam that occurs - extremely annoying, building shuddering, slam every time.

It is one of a very few premises offering accomodation in this particular area. It is a very basic pub in need of some attention on the decorative side. The room allocated to me was not of a good standard and showed signs of damp ingress. The bathroom facilities were shared. There was no signage or instructions for fire precautions and no obvious signs of electrical testing. I used the premises for convenience and put up with the 45 pounds a nightcharge but am left with the distinct feeling that I was overcharghed for what was provided.

Nice looking country pub. Very disappointed, We where kept awake until 3am as the lanlady decided to have a lock in with people making strange noises!! and as we had to be up early in the morning this was not really an ideal place to stay. They also re-let one of our rooms and decided not to refund what we had paid for that room so when booking make sure you are fully aware of booking conditions. Would not recomend this as a B&B.

A really nice and friendly atmosphere from the owners. Home from home. Ideal location just off the m50 and ideal for the Malverns and also the Forest of Dean or perhaps a venture into Wales. This is a local pub on the main road by the village so you are going to get residue noise until 1130 most nights - but we didn't mind - with our child safely in bed just above our heads - we joined with the locals and was made to feel most welcome :-)

The friendly host at the Rose and Crown made us very welcome. The food at our evening meal was very good and nicely presented. The breakfast was substantial and also well cooked. Our room was the double annexe room with en-suite and was well furnished with modern furniture and was clean and well kept. We would stay again if visiting the area again. We found all was well and had no real dislikes with the place. It served our purpose very well.

Booked en suite room, on arrival had shared bathroom. Food awful, no heating in room, told someone would be up to fix it, no one came to fix it! Packed lunch supplied as I left too early in the morning for breakfast, ham sandwich was made & left on shelf by back door at 20.40 the night before!!!

The staff were helpful in trying to get us to our destination for the evening. Although there was not a warm welcome - they did try to sort out taxis and actually drove some of my party to the nearby destination. Cold rooms - had to ask for heating to be put on and it was turned off in between. The bar constantly smelled of fried food. Coffee was terrible. Breakfast of first day was fried and I edible although was much better on day two. Facilities in the outside rooms were bare and cold with little insulation. Lots of traffic noise.

Simple, clean room, budget-friendly, warm hostess - family atmosphere and breakfast included. The pub quieted down and I had a very restful night. I stayed for the proximity to Ledbury poetry festival. The other guests were quite noisy.
