Central location Free parking Friendly staff Reception area, restaurant & bar are stylish and comfortable.
Very expensive for the standard of the rooms, we saw 3 different rooms, all tired looking and basic. Extremely hot at night and uncomfortable small double bed. Breakfast should be included for the high price of the room as it's hardly gourmet food. Contacted hotel twice to request early check in, no one responded.
Bathroom ...outbuildings looked industrial
Good high street location good access to shops and resturants
Old building so not much could be done to alter it but it's creeky as you walk about
Liked the welcome of reception and although in the front of the hotel no noise
The carpets and fitting need some attention come on best western this hotel needs a facelift.
Building was rather 'tired'. Realise it is a very old building and hard to maintain but did feel that it could be spruced up a bit.
Located opposite castle near the river. Staff friendly, good breakfast.
Get the feeling from it could do with a bit of a makeover in the bedroom department at least.
Friendly staff well located for a ghost hunt we were doing at Tonbridge Castle Big bed Large room
poor cleanliness - particularly the bathroom. Poo in the toilet, used soap in the shower and hairs on the floor. Would only reccommend if it is just somewhere to get your head down.
Delightful staff Great breakfast Lovely old dining room
Rooms 'out back' in '70s extension Mouldy smell Like my old school buildings
Lack of shower in bathroom.
The location was perfect for where I needed to be.
It was cold and there was not an extra blanket, or heating I could of asked for one but I was too cold to go downstairs. I struggled with getting the shower to work and the flow was poor and difficult to get the temperature right.
Central Location Fair price for the area
Poor shower facility, just a trickle. Bathoom was a bit tired. Some "drain" type smells, Loo flush erratic. Wi Fi didnt work properly (room at far end of annex)
The staff were unfailingly courteous and helpful.
The sustained attitude of both staff and customers to the abuse of the fire doors which were invariably left open, to the danger of all of us. I made a fuss about this when I was last there over 4 years ago. I didn't make a fuss this time, I just shut them. I also disliked intensely the decoration of the bar/dining area, by covering up the beams with some sort of paint or wash. Hideous! Also the bedroom staff's cupboards were left open and they were not at all clean. I will not be staying with you again.
friendly and helpful staff, good food, terrific location
Old pub atmosphere
Poor state of the rooms. Tiny double bed In need of a total 're fit' Fine for commercial travellers My last stay under Trust Houses was over 40 years ago, nothing seemed to have been upgraded since then!
Good position and nice food
I Have stayed here many times but this time was in a room that was on quite a slope. Had to put a pillow behind me to stop falling out of bed and didn't sleep well because of it.
This visit we had a room at the back of the hotel and it was so much better.....we were able to get a good nights rest as we didn't have the noise from the constant traffic passing by.
Location in Town Center
Rooms in poor state of repair Toilet smells badly Doors and windows not closing properly
nice comfortable room
difficult to find car park. staff unavailable if trying to leave early in the morning. breakfast should have been included in the price.
I fail to understand how a restaurant that can serve food like that can be so quiet! It was absolutely brilliant and good value. The room was good and quiet with comfy beds. Free wifi throughout.
We think that the bottled water in the bedroom was tap water that had been sitting for a long time. Minor quibble really as the rest was so good.
Good location in Tonbridge and the property has plenty of character for those wishing to get away from premierinn and travelodge etc.
The single room was a little dated and the shower was difficult to use. There was some noise from the High Street but that is to be expected.
Service good parking good when found! Room facilities good
Personal choice deco., low beams in room, but it understand it's the type of building.
Lisa, the general manager, was fantastic, welcoming and very helpful Great location
No soap/shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom Tired decor Room very hot on arrival - no fan or temp control for towel rail/radiator Hard bed Hairdryer/iron very old
The location is excellent and the building is interesting with internal wood panelling. The Head (?) Receptionist was wonderful. Good breakfast.
My room was miniscule - clearly the servants' quarters in an earlier time. Thin poor quality duvet and pillows. Receptionist on arrival was surly and unhelpful. She remained so whenever she was on duty during my 3 day stay. Had to wait an age at the unattended bar one evening until the Receptionist eventually tracked the barman down. I was the only one at dinner on the first evening which was a soulless experience. Phones not working.
