I liked how big the room was and a nice bathroom and fast wifi connection
a bit annoying how the floor Creak but some find it fascinating and you'll feel the soul ibside the house
I liked its character ... genuinely olde-worlde.
The informality of the hotel
General management of hotel and upkeep poor. Hot tap produced a trickle of water. Light bulb not working. Staff need training re customer serviceThis is a very poor Best Western Hotel.
Location was great for my purposes. The hotel is pleasant enough. Room was comfortable and clean. Good value for money.
I didn't have any hot water running from my sink and only a dribble of cold. Bath water tepid. Electrics dodgy. Poor building on last legs. Needs urgent TLC.
the ease of being able to get into town
on arrival was not informed that there was no heating on in the room, which was icy cold, or that there would be no hot water available till late in the evening due to work. Receptionist very rude. Room situated in the 'garden wing' which overlooked a car park, skip and general tip.
wifi, when it worked.
room not made up on 2nd day!!had to wait too long to get a drink!
clean and comfortable
no hot water couldn't shower or bath. \water trickled from tap
The receptionist was very nice and apologetic and the location is nice and convenient. There is a lovely local pub called the Man of Kent which I would recommend.
Unfortunately we had to be moved rooms twice, the first was not ready for us and had not been cleaned, the bed was unmade and a used half full still warm cup on the side, the second had a black stain in the bed, was very cold and the sofa also had stains on it. The receptionist was very nice about it all and took me to another room with was much nicer and had a 4 poster bed so I think she ungraded us however the room was still very dusty and set my asthma off.
quiet room , cosy.
on entering looks stark and smell of cabbage - get a nice aroma and flower display to set a welcome
The receptionist kept us waiting without a polite word as she finished what looked like dusting! Even after explaining one of us was disabled with a pacemaker & breathing difficulty we were given a small room on the 3rd floor up in the roof with very steep small stairs that took a long time to recover from as well as my partner felt & looked quite poorly In fact my partner stayed in the room the duration of our stay in fear of a tumble down & up the stairs as they were spiral. NOT GOOD
Hot chocolate in rolm
Shower wasnt very powerful
The veiw of the car park and the builders working in the rooms next to us at 7.30 on a Sunday morning
The builders using a circular saw at 8 o'clock in the morning in the car park and the banging they was doing in the room next to ours
friendly staff and room was pleasant and had everything I needed.
no bad experiences.
Very warm and comfortable. Quaint and characterful property.
Sunday night stay.... the hotel and Tonbridge itself were deadly quiet and deserted. However lots of banging of doors early the next morning.
Couldn't get the tv to work properly.
Like to stop here as it is central to Tonbridge, with great links to London. The building is quirky and the staff are great
Shower was a mixer and could not get it to balance, it was either scolding hot or freezing. Bathroom door would not shut and lock didn't work that had been attached. Reported both and Management advised they would be sorted
some dishes cutlery and serving trays not clean
Friendly staff at check in.
Clean, comfortable bed.
We were in room 14, above the kitchen. It was hot with no heating on, and the kitchen smells permeated the room. VERY noisy floor borads around us and in our room.
free wifi and the TV was ok
dust was ever where the bed felt like a slab of rock and the times for breakfast wasn't long enough
The bath towels and breakfast
Walking through rubble and plaster dust to get to our room with workmen barging past using the same stairs carrying tiles and materials which could have knocked us over.
Breakfasts were good
There were heating issues and on the first night (Xmas Eve) our room was so cold that I wore a jumper over my pyjamas
Cold bathroom (it was very cold outside.
Reception area quite smart
1) fittings falling off in bathroom 2) had a front room and pigeon noises all night 3) exterior area, esp. portico, down at heel - plant boxes scruffy, dead pigeon (!), etc. 4) room corridors smelly.... ....no eye for detail...
