Clean, comfortable bed.
We were in room 14, above the kitchen. It was hot with no heating on, and the kitchen smells permeated the room. VERY noisy floor borads around us and in our room.
free wifi and the TV was ok
dust was ever where the bed felt like a slab of rock and the times for breakfast wasn't long enough
The bath towels and breakfast
Walking through rubble and plaster dust to get to our room with workmen barging past using the same stairs carrying tiles and materials which could have knocked us over.
Breakfasts were good
There were heating issues and on the first night (Xmas Eve) our room was so cold that I wore a jumper over my pyjamas
Cold bathroom (it was very cold outside.
Reception area quite smart
1) fittings falling off in bathroom 2) had a front room and pigeon noises all night 3) exterior area, esp. portico, down at heel - plant boxes scruffy, dead pigeon (!), etc. 4) room corridors smelly.... ....no eye for detail...
Hotel very dated, needs upgrading. Room small but comfortable, kept awake most of the night by the windows rattling and the ill fitting door to the bathroom banging. Not impressed with the cleanliness of the communal stairway to our room, very dirty. Room fine, maybe should not expect too much for the cost of the room. Chose the hotel for the convenient location for the social event that we were attending.
Pleasant staff in reception. If was after 8 pm when I arrived and the hotel was very quiet.
The hotel was very quiet. The pillows and 'duvet' seemed to be 'home spun'!
Good location with ample parking. Clean room with all the facilities needed. Friendly and welcoming staff.
smell of cooking oil on landing
Staff very helpful and friendly. Building is 16th century so some creaking floorboards, but full of character
Good central location and easy to find. Parking facilities at rear.
Room rather old and tired. A bit like a 1950's B&B. Not very warm. Noisy plumbing. Bathroom door did not shut. Breakfast buffet very basic.
Friendly staff. Good location.
Cleaning was poor. Lot of dust and fluff. Toilet tricky to flush. Room was lovely just needed some TLC.
Food was very good and the staff very helpful.
Very noisy we had a room on the main high street and traffic noise interupted our sleep. Plus the room was very cold.
Staff all very friendly and helpful
Needs a bit of an upgrade, rooms are tired. Shame about the view from the window
Nearness to station, definite value for money
no dislikes, satisfied with all
Fair price for a room in Tonbridge. Pleasant view from window. One staff member worked hard to assist us. Room was fine bathroom needed a bit of a spruce up.
Dark car park area to get to our room albeit it is a smallish courtyard area definitely needs more lighting
Room was clean and facilities in the room was good
The dining staff were not very friendly.
I booked for the wrong night by accident, when I explained the situation they changed the booking without any fuss or extra charges. They went out of their way to find me a taxi that would collect me at 04.30 and take me to the station. Thank you.
Stayed over night as I had to work locally early the next day. Out side noise until 1 am . Was a Saturday night .
Close to town centre..
Bed needs to be made level. Lights need fixing.. some switches did not do anything. Hot water coming out of cold tap!!!! We had to leave early in morning, so paid cash upon arrival. Only to be told I had to wait for receipt because of something to do with VAT. Then, after waiting and asking twice more for receipt, to be told by two different members of staff that I had not yet paid!!! We paid cash upon arrival. Hairs in bath and on pillow. I very rarely leave a review, but feel this place needs one. I could go on, but I won't...
I enjoyed the comfortable ensuite room, warm handy to town centre, brief stay, but would return again in future.
Tea and coffee making, tv in room and I also liked the bath in ensuite room.
Location. Free Parking Check in staff were very friendly.
Toothpaste stains on the shelf in the bathroom and dirt on the back of the bathroom door.
The location of the hotel was good
The room was not very clean, the TV didn't work and I hardly slept as it was very noisey. The access to the room was through the bar which wasn't ideal.
Staff are very helpful, bar area is comfortable, bathrooms and towels very clean!
Over priced, breakfast is very expensive, not enough towels, sometimes lights do not work, nor does wi-fi most of the time! Old part of hotel is very dated, uneven floors, musky smell!
The hotel was quaint, parking was good. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Squeaky floor boards above were heard but then it was to be expected from the quaintness of the hotel. Staff tried hard but felt they could do with a little more training. Often had to be prompted.
I was pleased with everything but if one was a little less agile the stairs to the rooms could be tricky.
