The hotel was quaint, parking was good. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Squeaky floor boards above were heard but then it was to be expected from the quaintness of the hotel. Staff tried hard but felt they could do with a little more training. Often had to be prompted.
I was pleased with everything but if one was a little less agile the stairs to the rooms could be tricky.
It was close to three locations which I had to visit.
1.Bed a bit too small for me. 2.Washbasin was slow to empty. 3.Some difficulty flushing toilet. 4.Air extractor vent needs a new cover. 5.I was awakened at 3.15 am by some noisy lout shouting and banging in the corridor. He appeared to be trying to locate a friend in one of the rooms. 6.My poached egg tasted fishy and my grilled tomato was bland and tasteless.
Friendly helpful staff
Rooms and main areas a looking a little tired
Exceptional customer service Very comfy bed No late night disturbance Vast amount of tea/coffee/milk etc
Decor a bit tired BUT ~ that didn't detract from cleanliness
Cold bathroom - heated towel rail not working - not particularly clean; sloping shelf. Lacklustre service in restaurant.
Location was great
Window was broken, completely unsafe, carpet damp, hairs in bath and a damp smell throughout. And we both woke with bites from all I can presume were bed bugs. Wifi non-existent
that it had a bath
smell of damp dust cip in china cup at breckfast stain on barth room floor cold damp room
We stayed at the hotel after attending a funeral and wanted to stay afterwards at a hotel central to Tonbridge with good parking facilities
The place and the people were good
rooms a little tired now
Location Lovely old building Car Parking good
Bedroom slightly cold as heating faulty. (Was offered an electric heater). Decor needs some attention upstairs, Public rooms fine
room was cold. heating not on and it was not possible to put it on.
Efficient, friendly staff.
very tired hotel which is in dire need of re-decorating through out the hotel.
On the first night a large group of us came back to the hotel to have a drink. The barman was very 'put out' and the bar was poorly stocked.
A good continental breakfast. Close to family and friends.
6 Pigeons cooing under the Christmas Tree outside our room. Noisy bathroom fan and TV that needed tuning and colour adjustment. A room at the back of this hotel is preferable as we had on our last visit.
The location in the middle of the High St and handy to railway station and on several bus routes. Staff immediately changed my room when the shower fell off the wall.
As a single female guest I felt quite unsafe in a room in an outside block when at 1am a man was running up and down the hallway banging on doors and swearing. I will always request a room within the hotel now.
Friendly and helpful staff ! Room was great ! Food was very good too.
Relaxed atmosphere, the room was warm, clean and comfortable with a plentiful supply of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. We didn't eat at the hotel as we were visiting family so cannot comment on the food
Thankfully only two things that caused us angst. Car parking very difficult during the evening when the function room is being used. We had to hang around on both evenings until somebody left. Also, the shower pressure was almost non existent.
Not enough milk and sugar in the room Room was far too hot
Reception staff were great.
Cleanliness - needs a lot of improvement. Broken lighting in corridor gives off an impression of shabbiness Breakfast waitress was terrible, brusque to the point of rudeness - but a good customer services training session would work wonders.
Free wifi, Central location
Tired rooms .
Very noisy we had no sleep at all and shower ran cold in the morning ! I did complain after I had paid ( wish I'd held some payment back) and not really an apology just told "oh really you were at the back of the hotel ! And I'll investigate the shower" still bit heard anything, to be honest.
The hotel is dated, poorly appointed, with dreadfully small and dirty rooms. I had room 103, so I can only comment on this one. Carpets are dirty, stairs and doors grubby, and the overall experience was poor. Parking is awkward for a first time visitor. I will not recommend this to family and friends. Dr Bennett
Staff are friendly room was nice food excellent all in all a nice night away x
The car park yoy have to go all around the houses to get to it.
No atmosphere Staff not very welcoming, often couldnt find them
