Lovely old building, rooms a good size, bed clean and comfortable
The whole place felt and looked very tired and dated. Our room (14) was just at the top of the stairs and looked as though it needed quite a bit of money spent on it - en-suite had cracked windows and nasty smell coming from the bath
Great location, lots of free parking. Friendly staff
Rooms are very tired. Shower was falling off the wall. WiFi was very intermitant.
Everything was horrific.
Creeky floorboards - its a very old building!
I tried to get the remotes to switch on the TV but without success - 2 remotes and only radio sound. Pity.
We stayed one night as we were attending a wedding in the local area. The staff were lovely and helpful especially Lisa who was there to check us in and out and was very polite and friendly. All in all a lovely hotel in an interesting building with great staff.
The rose and crown hotel was a great place to stay, the staff there was friendly, approachable, and helpful during the visit. The location was right next to a main road and it was still possible to have an exquisite nights sleep with marvellous comfort for the individual overall a really enjoyable stay highley commendable
Downstairs is better than it was , but could still do with improving .
Staff not really very welcoming or helpful , rooms on a slope , no aircon, too warm in rooms for summer, bathroom too small , far too expensive for what you get, outside space needs improving , as does the car park , very shabby.
Location was excellent
Rooms were too small. Floors were extremely noisy. No ventilation so had to open windows which meant no sleep at all.
Squeaky uneven floors were hard to walk on and very very noisy
Comfy Bed Location
Dirty bathroom, Room 19 Traffic Noise all night Staff not happy Breakfast Expensive
the main door to the corridor was broken
The room looked fresh and charming Good value for money Excellent location in the center of town and just a short distance from the Tonbridge School
Breakfast room looked quite tired and not well lit. It was a hot summer day and my room on the second floor was quite hot (no air conditioning installed) Bathroom shower could have been better.
I LIKED THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IN TONBRIDGE
Room was clean & all staff very pleasant
Extremely noisy room from fact room faced a very busy road. Uncomfortably hot, staff provided a fan, but not very effective as too small. Very little sleep due to noise and heat. Shower was either scolding hot or cold. Although I asked for a quiet room was told hotel full.
Room facilities were excellent. Breakfast quality was good.
Car parking facilities rather restricted particularly at busy times With an open window in hot weather, there was quite a lot of human-created noise late into the night.
room right next to event centre so kept awake till gone midnight. no one on reception when wanted to check out sunday morning
We stayed on the hottest day of the year- there was no air con or at least any fans for the room. The towel rail in the bathroom couldn't be turned off making it feel like a sauna!
No window ventilation Water supply to shower and taps was a dribble at best
Meal was good, attentive staff. Brought iron when we requested one very quickly. Enough tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate in the rooms. Lovely building (we stayed in the original part).
Shower head loose, concerned the unit was going to pull away from the wall.
The room was too hot and should have had a fan as this was in the "heat wave" period.
Location & car parking
The bed was big and comfortable , close to castle and pubs
Room too hot , no glasses for water or in bathroom, room not as big as expected, shower screen made it difficult to reach taps x if staying as a family the sofa bed would have to be moved to pull out and then would be no space in room, dingy old fashioned wardrobe x too small as a family room x
Bed linen was lovely. Bed was comfy.
Internet connection was very dodgy - I wouldn't usually complain but I was trying to stay in touch with relatives from abroad during some urgent family matters.
Helpful bar waiting staff
The plumbing. I've stayed here three times now. Twice, I've found the mixer on the shower does not work. It's stressful.
Very friendly staff. Good food. Historic coaching inn.
Décor perhaps just a little bit more than shabby chic.
