Prices in the bar
The hotel sits in amongst trees and you would not think you are in a city. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are of excellent standard with ensuite, TV and good WiFi. For those that like victorian buildings this is exceptional and designed and fitted out from the floor tiles to ceilings by Augustus Pugin. Breakfast is done to order and very good. The owner Jackie is very friendly and will answer any questions you have.
Nothing which is unusual
The staff were helpful and made everything easy to have a restful stay, the house is fascinating and full of history, the beds were really comfy. The breakfast was in the conservatory which was really pleasant and the food was delicious. Would defiantly stop here again.
original property features were stunning, high ceilings, plasterwork, staircase etc. food very good, young staff members very attentive and polite.
upstairs deco a little dated but adequate and still good value
quirky layout and fixtures in the public areas, good sized bedroom, friendly staff
The staff were all lovely and very helpful. Food and table service was excellent really could not fault the helpfulness of the staff.
We both thought this was a very good hotel at a very reasonable price. The location was first class. Rooms were quirky but comfortable. Food both breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Probably the best lamb I have tasted in years. All staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful and were a credit to the hotel. Long may it continue to provide a first class service to its clients.
Good food and service. Friendly staff. Wonderful old building with lots of ornate fittings and character. Much better than a chain hotel.
I always choose the Rosehill when I am staying overnight in Burnley. It is cheap friendly and comfortable and the breakfast is very generous.
I have stayed several times and don't recall any problems.
Quirky furniture, comfy rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely grounds. Tasty food.
Nothing to dislike.
The staff were lovely and the breakfast was delicious. The building and grounds were stunning. The bathroom was lovely and very modern.
The room we stayed in was very old fashioned and contained DIY distressed furniture, which looked awful. The room also contained 2 armchairs and when I sat in one the arm almost fell off! The clock radio was from the 1970's and very yellowed, as was the phone. We travel regularly and this was the most dated room we have ever stayed in - sorry!
The hotel looked lovely on line and was pretty when got there. Although nice in need of a good make over, the walls are grubby and flaking paint, the floor in our bathroom was very spongy (rotten boards I'd guess), I think a previous guest called it quirky and it is in part but really would be a stunning hotel if the owner spent time and money taking care of it.
Peeling paint and questionable stuff on wall (room 8)
A very good dinner menu cooked very well. Compliments to the chef.
The double bed in our room was old and sank in the middle. Not a good nights sleep.
Convenient location and breakfasts.
The room, as I said in the written comments I left was a disaster for two 70 year olds. Leaving aside the absence of reasonable external light a simple re-arrangement of the furniture would help to avoid the not uncommon head crashes with the angled timberwork. The toilet cistern leaked continually.
Good location for our needs. Public rooms quite reasonable
Not keen on the gothic feel of the place. Our room was in the attic and very poor. Minute bathroom and furniture was shabby.
The friendly staff who were always helpful. The quality breakfast. The history of the building.
The hotel is a little tired. The bedrooms need redecorating, the beds replacing and general curtaining, furniture etc upgrading. Having said that it is a lovely building and could be a fantastic high quality hotel although I appreciate this might involve higher prices and possibly impact on clientele volumes.
everything about it
nothing to moan about
Quirkyness! Bedroom/4 poster bed Speed of wifi Buildings and garden location
Having to renter password for wifi whenever your device sleeps - a small but annoying thing
Everyhing from the location, the friendly and welcoming owners (James and Paula), the spacious room, extremely comfortable beds, lovely breakfast through to the 24 hour service
A nicely maintained country house with excellent staff to give you a warm welcome on arrival and a high standard of service throughout the 2 day stay The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner very well served and nicely presented. Compliments to the chef
Location, staff and value for money. The building has old world charm which is very pleasant in these days of sterile plastic. Breakfast was brilliant.
The room was a long way from the front door which made life difficult with bags and the premises look a little worn.
I really enjoyed my stay. The bed was so clean and comfy and I slept really well. Bathroom facilities were spotless and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend you. I liked looking out of the large window and watching the birds and squirrels.
Just a small point and that was handles dropping off the furniture but otherwise no complaints
everything really. staff, food, deco. well stacked bar.great breakfast.
Big family room with lounge are and separate childrens bedroom. Very friendly staff and great breakfast.
