to find such an amazing hotel in Burnley. It's an old mill owners mansion and is full of character with amazing decor. The staff were friendly and the evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Would highly recommend it.
The hotel was fabulous in every way. The decor, the cleanliness, the beers on offer, the food, the staff. Need I say more? One of the best hotels I have stayed in and most of them have been 5*. Looking forward to our next stay there. Well done on giving your guests unbelievable value for money.
Very good food and friendly welcoming staff
Good breakfast, very pleasant staff, value for money and comfortable bed. It is a wonderful old building with some great features e.g. the ceilings in the main rooms
Some of the decor was a bit 'off the wall' but it would not put me off from returning.
Free wifi Good meals Warm rooms Friendly staff
great quick check in, pleasant staff, great for site guys to use for the evening and quiet so could get a good nights sleep
Great breakfast & location is perfect for us.
Girl on reception was a bit off with us, she smiled but did not communicate with us.
Usually a good experience
Boiler broken- 2 out of 4 rooms cancelled 18 hours before arrival(Xmas time) Rooms cold No hot water- trickle Badly handled Staff rude No compensation offered- Very disappointing
I always stay at this hotel, it is the best in the area.
The staff was friendly really enjoyed our stay thank you
Nothing was bad was all good
The prices, the food, the staff, the whole experience of our stay, was so good, I would recommend it to anyone, knowing full well, that their stay would be just as good as ours was, 10 out of 10. And a personal thank you, for your willingness to be so helpful in such a happy way to your guests.
Bar was available 24 hours; Nice breakfast, Parking good
Room was a bit cold
bed was comfy and the breakfast was very nice.
No heating in the bathroom due to boiler issue but other than that everything else was good.
Excellent food evening meal was superb value for money and breakfast too. Room tho old and creaky was nice and warm but could do with a sprose up.
No black pudding available at breakfast and no alternative offered
Very nice staff. Good food Excellent location
Could do with a a paint job.
The main building is fabulous. Plasterwork is amazing, Next time I would pay extra for a better room
Bed only average, room nice but furniture average and TV tiny, wi fi a but hit and miss. Consider paying a bit extra for a better room
oldie worldie, rooms plenty of space, breakfast is fab, we go this hotel every year
closeness to the town
the shower. pathetic.
Old fashioned ambiance, staff standards; food
coffee-filter and sometimes a little 'stewed'
Old House. Old Style ambience. Such friendly staff. Excellent value
The room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Enough storage for clothes and shoes. The staff were excellent, very helpful. Breakfast menu gave a variety to suit most tastes, and the portions were not stingy. The hotel itself was lovely to look at, with plenty of grounds to sit and relax in, weather permitting. Surrounding areas had assortment of venues, i.e. cinema, pubs, restaurants. We will certainly visit there again.
The only problem was trying to find the hotel. Better signage on the main and side roads would have saved phone calls to ask directions. The receptionist was very good, though had the hotel been busier, other guests may have become annoyed due to length of time being on the phone. A sign on the fence would ensure customers would not think it was a "dead end".
friendly and courteous staff, general decor.
cold hallways to room.
Staff where excellent hotel was clean and enjoyed my stay
T v was to small and breakfast took to long to come to us but when it dad it was very nice
Had a very comfy night, lovely room, clean and well equipped. Nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous.
Creaking floorboards, sloping floors, single glazed sash windows, wide staircase with carved newel posts, mosaic tiled floors, log fire in the bar, and the most ornate panelled dining room door I think I've ever seen. The hotel has managed to retain many original features including the most intricate plaster ceilings on the ground floor. The staff (and owner) were polite and helpful at all times.
I struggled a bit with the password protected wi-fi, but that could just be me learning to use a new phone at the time.
