Excellent value for money. Very helpful, friendly staff. Lovely, spotless room with good facilities and pleasant view. Good car parking and not too far from the town centre. We would definitely staff again.

Comfortable beds and good breakfast. Staff very helpful. Whilst the hotel was comfortable it needs a refurbishment -mainly redecoration . They should serve a Scottish Breakfast (black pudding and haggis) in the breakfast room although the breakfast was very good.

The room was quiet! Too many hotels - including expensive ones have noise from plumbing/other guests etc. Cooked breakfast was excellent.

The family suite that we stayed in was one of the best rooms I have experienced. It was converted from a former coaching Inn and was massive. Decoration was modern and the self-contained nature of the suite gave the feel of having our own holiday apartment with it's own front door. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Although the room was spectacular, the noise coming from the creaky floorboards in the room above were infuriating.. The guests above seemed to be doing a sponsored walk in their room from 11 pm to 1 am, during which time we didn't get a wink of sleep.

The views from the rooms are beautiful. As the hotel is a Victorian building, it has a lot of character and the decor (although a little dated) is also very attractive, even in the standard rooms. The location was perfect being so close to Pitlochry's main street. The cooked buffet breakfast was excellent. The receptionist was polite and helpful. The shower in the twin room was broken (which we were not even informed of) and the standard double room had no shower, only a bath. The rooms were quite noisy, especially in the morning. I found some members of staff to be very slightly rude.

The main areas of the hotel were pleasant but nothing particularly special then we got our room! It was a junior suite but what a great size, the children 7 and 3 loved it and hoped it was our new home! Breakfast was great and you couldn't fault the staff so friendly, good with the children and a great experience overall - we will be going back!

2 particular good points- one day I went into breakfast at about 9.30, the cut-off time, and in no way was made to feel late or rushed; there was a spontaneous offer as I left to drive me to the railway station, which I accepted.

We made a late booking and were offered their largest room which can sleep 6, though we were only 3. This meant the room was huge for our needs, having a very large double bed and 1 single bed, a leather 1 and 2 seater, a wet-room shower and a huge walk-in wardrobe as well a store room for bikes or similar. The room also had it's own front door into the carpark. Having such a large room meant that our ceiling was the floor of the 3 rooms above and their corridor, that and the creaky floor boards made for a noisy night! For us being on holiday doesn't involve getting up at the crack of dawn and as such we were generally towards the end of the breakfast sitting. We found that having the waiter 'hovering' around made us feel uncomfortable.

Poor room - advised on arrival that shower did not work, but then found the loo didn't flush either (without removing the cistern lid). Also en-suite very dated. No beer/lager on tap, all in cans. Breakfast quoted at 0830 start only to find it did start earlier - we were on an early departure. Basically something out of Fawlty Towers.

The curtains were really nice The bar was under stocked, the soap dispencers in the room were empty. I asked for stick toffee pudding which was on the menu to be told they ran out of it that morning? An they also had no brown sauce??? Cmon this was a joke myself an my partner went for a walk around the town an on our return we found out that the hotel staff had packed our belongings for us? The roon we got looked nothing like the one in the picture that we thought we had booked this was very disappointing.

That they upgraded our room as we were disappointed with the twin room we were allocated. The corridors were like a maze and very old fashioned.Easy to get lost. Strong smell of cooking fat upon entering.

The friendly welcoming atmosphere which was very relaxing for a short break away from home. Dinner menu was a bit limited but it was off season in February so that was probably acceptable for time of year
