The setting, the gardens, the staff, the cleanliness. It may seem that we have had a lot of things we didn't like but they were minor and could easily be fixed and we would stay at the hotel again. Minor points - I kept knocking my leg against the corner of the bed - had a bruise. The mattress or the base of the bed needs changing - we kept rolling into the middle of the bed. Towels were situated at the wrong end of the shower room - towel rail should be positioned outside the shower. Toast was hardly toasted at all. Mushrooms were swimming in liquor. We stayed in Garden Room 3. My daughter and her children were in Garden Room 2 and the shower in there was leaking were the shower head was connected to the hose.

Staff were very courteous and friendly. Food was gorgeous and inexpensive as were the drinks. Lovely location and grounds. We left something behind in the room and it was posted to us within 2 days of our return. Room was a little tired and basic. Needs a new loo seat and the thermostat control replacing on the shower.

We were greeted by the polite staff following our late arrival, and shown to our room. Room was excellent, 4 poster bed, wet room, for the price was absolutely brilliant. Service was great to, served in the bar and made to feel welcome, chef came in early in the morning to cook us breakfast due to an early start, and food quality was very good. Getting up and out of the 4 poster bed.

Stayed in one of the Garden Rooms it was impressively furnished with a large bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was good value. We have to stay in the area later in the year will definitely returnn My only gripe was the church clock chiming but I think it was me awake rather than it waking me up!

It was within easy reach of Newmarket. The hotel was adequately funished and comfortable. That the reception is entered via the dining room. This makes the dining room a place of regular traffic in and out and this weekend was cold so the doors opening and closing all the time made it chilly. Its also distracting when having a meal.

The Staff were very pleasant, we were made welcome, and Garden Room 1 was excellent. Really liked the four poster and the massive shower area. Breakfast and Dinner were of a high quality. Pathway from room to restaurant was a little slippery with the wet leaves etc.Blame the British Weather

Despite previous respondent, we found the Garden rooms spacious and comfortable and certainly not 'chalets', they are proper brick buildings. Staff (that we saw) friendly and welcoming. Good variety provided for breakfast and cooked was good quality. Dinner menu fairly ordinary, though my mother's fillet steak was very good. Good value for money - you get what you pay for. Could have done with a bit more light to get from garden rooms to hotel for dinner. We saw only two members of staff during our stay, the evening waitress and the morning waiter. The chicken that my wife and I had for dinner was rather dry.
