Location, Excellent, Staff, Restaurant, Breakfast, Clean Room was a in a converted semi-detached house "Business Class" Shower was so small you could reach down for anything and there was no tray and you could not operate the shower without flooding the bathroom. Room had poor blinds even with them all shut the room was brightly lit by 5:30am. Electric air freshener in the room was over powering A Stand-alone fridge was situated by the side of the bed in a main walkway in the room and was noisy. In summary I liked the hotel and disliked the room, I would think twice about staying again.

The bath in room 305 was too small. As soon as you open the balcony door the flies would fly in so it was a bit of a nuisance. Maybe a net of some sort on the balcony door will prevent this from happening in the future. The breakfast was ordered for the room and the times stated in the request card was between 10:30 an 11:00, however the breakfast was delivered at 10:14 and walk us up.

The location was ideal for us, the walk along the promenade from hotel is lovely. The hotel itself, the staff were friendly and courteous, efficient at dealing with an issue we did encounter during our stay. The breakfast delivered to the room was excellent. In the room we stayed in the decor was beautiful and while the main window in the room had heavy curtains, unfortunately the window just outside the bathroom only had a venetian blind and resulted in the room getting bright very early.

The staff on the reception desk were excellent. Good location in the quieter part of Southend, with a sea view. The breakfast was a bit chaotic. The bathroom was a bit small.

This hotel is stylish, comfortable and incredibly friendly. Excellent staff and wonderful sea views. The residents bar stays open 24 hours! Situated just far enough away from the noisy centre of town but easily walkable to the various hot spots. Very pleasantly surprised.

After the initial problem with parking, it was a lovely surprise to find we had been upgraded on our room to an executive room with balcony! Beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. loved the travel size Elemis beauty products! It was a very comfortable stay. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasted lovely! We now wished we had booked for dinner as talking to a local taxi driver, we discovered it was one of the best places to eat! Would definitely stay here again and book for dinner next time! As it was a bank holiday, the car parks were full and found it difficult to find a space, which a pain as we had been stuck on the M25 for nearly three hours due to a chemical spillage! My partner spoke to one member of staff and her attitude wasnt very helpful by saying it was a bank holiday and they were very busy. Not a good start to our stay!

Friendly staff, efficient service, classy decor, delicious food and great location, especially when the sun is shining and the tide is in. Size of the bedroom was too small. Should be a single room. Bed against the wall on one side. Only one cup and saucer confirm this room should have been a single occupancy room.

Clean and tidy and convenient location. Breakfast service was dreadful. We arrived a minute or two after 10 a.m. - latish - but not late - hardly any food left - empty food trays not re-stocked - no tables made up but many uncleared - had to ask head waiter for a table to be cleared before we could sit down - that took nearly 15 minutes - then ourselves had to take spare napkins, cutlery and side-plates off a nearby uncleared table - empty tea pot left on table and not cleared away - head waiter smooth but useless. Food cold.

The hotel is fresh and clean and in a great position on the seafront. During our stay whilst preparing for our friends wedding, there was constant banging and drilling in the room next door, After about 1 1/2 hours we were getting annoyed about the loud noise, and when reported to reception were basically told that it will not go on for much longer. It continued until we left the room at 4.15, and probably after. This kind of work should be carried out during the mornings whilst the rooms are empty, not when paying guests are occupying the rooms. We did not find this or the attitude of the staff acceptable.

Clean, stylish and comfortable room, with great sea view. Friendly staff. Good bar food eg fish of the day was well grilled gurnard. Good breakfast included - buffet with choice of cooked eggs. Parking can be a challenge. Some bathroom fittings were a bit tired.

Upgrade to larger room at no extra cost. Fantastic views of the Thames estuary Although the bathroom was very good there was nowhere to hang towels whilst having a shower(next to shower), no soap holder in shower and no shaving mirror by the hand basin.

Reception staff very helpful and friendly - same with the bar staff and restaurant - The manager George - very professional and sorted some last minute requests for me I work overseas and stay in hotels constantly - therefore I have a good knowledge of standards- I normally stay in 5 star hotels and so know good standards - the Roslin in my opinion matches many 5 star hotels and with just a few minor adjustments - should be 5 star. Our was lovely - but the balcony was shared - which we did not want or expect - my partner was unpleasantly surprised to see another guy sitting outside our room - on what we assumed to be our balcony of our executive suite Room service - the food very good and staff friendly - but breakfast - we had to call them back 3 times for corrections and omissions to our order.
