Score from 36 reviews Good
We liked everything! Good situation in the Dale. Comfortable and well run. My wife, usually critical, would return tomorrow.
possibly the steep stairs to the 3rd floor, if that was important to you
Friendly owners who made us welcome. Thoughtful extras in the room like chocolate bars, hot chocolate powder. Great breakfasts with lots of choice, cooked to order. Good sized room (3rd level) with view over village. Very helpful and well written guide to local eateries and services. We felt at ease being there.
Our only negative is the shower lacked pressure and its temperature varied.
Warm welcome. Very understanding that we arrived late because of hold up on M1. Good breakfast. Nice atmosphere in house.
Shower tray very small so that shower curtain stuck to your body when in shower.
After 62 miles cyling we were helped to good restaurant yards away. Next morning a good breakfast saw us away on the second and final day of 110 miles to Bridlington.
Open airy room with all necessart to a comfortable stay
We were made to feel very welcome and very much at home. The room we had was roomy and comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent.
There was nothing that we. Would criticise and we would be happy to recommend Roslyn House to others.
Friendly, excellent facilities, clean, comfortable, convenient for sightseeing, all round superb
staff are extremley friendly and cannot do enough for you
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, and the breakfast was lovely. Would definitely return.
We were very lucky with the weather but as we were on the top floor it was rather hot for sleeping. No fault of the owners though.
The owners: Wonderful The house: I wish! The location: Ideally situated The food: You've got to believe this The room: No 5, lay off!, it's mine Eat local: No problems, but you will put on weight.
Having to come home. The long wait before we can go back.
The ambience was perfect, it was such a relaxing place from the moment we arrived until we reluctantly left. It was Kathy's 70th on the Saturday, and they added to our enjoyment by setting up a bottle of Champagne for our return from watching stage 1 of Le Grand Depart. We had cycled to Ripley to engage in the excitement that made Yorkshire buzz. After the peleton had sped by we cycled back to Pateley Bridge, and as I answered a phone call I foolishly left my rucksack behind on the verge, and noticed several miles further on. A helpful motorcyclist went back to look twice, but couldn't find it. I was getting realy worried when Liz pulled in. A wonderfully kind Yorkshire person, had found it and phoned her, as it had our room key in it. Liz had driven immediately to get it, and stopped to reassure me. After the delightful bubly, we had a wonderful meal at the Sportsmans' Arms. Next day we drove and walked to a rock above Blubberhouses, where we could see the whole climb and greatly enjoyed the longer view, and the company. Still brilliant waether! Liz & Lawrence had said we could come back to change, so we eventually left at 3pm to drive north through exotically remote moorelands with fantastic views and very old villages. A totally wonderful stay. Highly recommended!
Everything was wonderful, the closest we have found to a perfect place to stay.
Spotlessly clean, friendly welcoming hosts, super breakfast, great location.
Leaving when we did.
This was a beautiful B&B, and the hosts were very welcoming. I was cycling the Way of the Roses route, and they ensured that my bike was safe and that the bicycle seat stayed dry! They recommended a wonderful little restaurant around the corner, which I also thoroughly enjoyed.
We had a very warm welcome and the location was perfect. The bed was very comfortable which is quite important to us as we both suffer with back problems. We shall definitely visit Roslyn house again.
The bathroom was a little bit small but we didn't spend our holiday in the bathroom.
We had to wait for a table at breakfast time.not enough table's to accomodate all guests.as breakfast was from8 30 to 9 30 it was obvious everyone could. Not be seated at once
Breakfast excellent. Bed very comfortable. Lounge facility pleasant. Fresh milk in room a wonderful idea.
Overpowering smell of air fresher. Regulating shower difficult.
Excellent hosts who looked after us very well. Very convenient location for access to Yorkshire Dales and for visiting York.
Very welcoming, comfy beds, fantastic locally sourced breakfast, ideal for cyclists (as we were) doing the way or the roses ride as they are on route and have secure bike storage. Thank you.
attention to detail... genuine interested owner... sweetest waitress... genorous room with desk .. very comfortable
having to leave!
Breakfast were excellent. Owners very welcoming. Plesent clean rooms also very quite location as was in a back room
Everything except the shower
The shower had been plumbed in backwards, so when you wanted it cooler, it got hotter! It was also so sensitive that if you nudged the controls accidentally you could get very hot (or cold) instantly!
Very friendly welcome. Clean comfortable room & first class breakfast
Friendly owner; Easy walk to eating venues; Quaint town
Small bathroom; Cheap furniture; Thin curtains meant woken very early by summer light; Not a really quiet street; Tiny TV
