Room was large, clean and quiet. Location near river and village pubs. Easy access to chester by road
Workers talking in corridor at. 6 am (residents going to work) won't be a problem at weekends
Ideally located for our purposes!!
very clean hotel, good local amenities. staff very helpful and professional. would happily recommend
other very noisy guests!! but the hotel dealt with the situation well
Unhelpful staff, lack of cleanliness, lack of experience of restaurant staff, very poor quality bedding, no mobile phone signal, general state of disrepair in all areas, lack of professionalism by staff and management alike
The rooms were a very good size and in a very good location.the village was good with The Golden Lion a very good pub for a less formal meal.
The only problem we had was during our stay it was very cold and I couldn't get the radiator to turn on luckily I had a blanket in the car.did go to reception said she would get someone to check it the next day but it wasn't any different .
Stayed here with my 2 children we loved the rooms food and the staff were very helpfull
Could only get WiFi in reception :(
We could not fault this hotel the staff were very friendly the family room we were in was very clean and tidy the food was excellent and the location was just right for our stay in Chester we would recommend this place to anyone. Good value for money!
nothing to dislike
Great location, small country village a few miles from Chester, nice pubs, nearby Golden Lion strongly recommended.
Quiet location with a lovely garden and a great breakfast.
Deco was perhaps a bit dated, but everything was clean and the room spacious.
The location was excellent it was out of the way but not too far so you could jump in the car and travel a short distance to different sights and attractions. The food was lovely and the staff were polite the rooms were nice. I would stay here again.
Rooms were big and spacious. Excellent value for money. This hotel is suited to you if you intend to only stay in it at night and travel around during the day.
A lot of stairs, not good for a family with young children.
Lovely kids park by the hotel. Room clean and beds comfy. Good value, quite quiet. Only stayed one night.
Other guests slamming their doors. Bath seal needs sorting in our room, looks grotty.
Not too much
The bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The loo seat had urine dried on it, bath had hairs in it and cobwebs on the ceiling along with thick dust in the main room and bathroom.
The room was comfortable and all the wedding arrangements appeared to go without any hitch.
The aim of the fixed showers !
Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them, good breakfast and comfortable bed
Couple next door were noisy until 4am! not fault of hotel though
Pleasantly surprised at the good facilities for such a reasonable price. Room was clean, comfortable and very attractive with extras like fridge and iron. Grounds and entrance very welcoming. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Staff friendly and helpful.
No negatives at all.
The location was good and there was an excellent pub within walking distance. Bathroom very clean and bed sheets clean Breakfast very good and breakfast staff excellent.
Reception staff not very friendly. Cobwebs and dust in the bedroom. We paid for an executive room and while this had an iron, ironing board and hairdryer and an empty mini bar, it wasn't really of executive standard.
What's not to like, everything was wonderful & everyone very helpful!
Nothing not to like.
Room exellent,staff very good.
Food not same as on menu, very noisey over night but there was a wedding on.
We liked the space in the rooms, the general layout of the hotel with different places to sit including the garden. A good location in the country but not too far from a town and close to a nearby village with good pubs and restaurants. Staff were very good.
The main meal menu was not very good for someone with a man sized appetite. This should be modified to provide a different choice of food as well as alacarte. That way more people may eat there in the evenings. Problem with WiFi in the room
Attractive looking hotel with the potential to be a lovely place to stay.
In our room when we arrived the toilet was dirty, also the seat was broken so you slide sidewards every time you sit on it. We only had one towel for two people. We stayed for two nights but the bedding wasn't changed even though it had gotten soiled with some blood from a graze in my arm. The breakfast crockery and cutlery was also dirty when we sat down to eat. The rain was leaking through the ceiling in the hall. The gents toilets in the hallway by the restaurant were filthy. The ladies toilet also had broken toilet seats and used toilet roll all over the floor. The staff were very helpful when we requested more towels and to replace the dirty crockery but main reception didn't asked if we enjoyed our stay on leaving, they just handed us our bill. We regularly travel away at weekends an stay in hotels and this has to be the worst experience so far for cleanliness and all round housekeeping.
The hotel was a great find. Location was great, breakfast excellent and cleanliness was good
Very noisy toilet on flushing.
Was a good stay
Location and local bus service.
Uncomfortable beds, grubby bathroom tiles. Scruffy decoration. Spider webs in room. Limited choice of fresh produce at breakfast. No marmalade available. Untidy grounds. Wifi non existent in bedroom.
Extremely friendly staff Very clean
Could do with modernising the bathrooms Shame no gym/pool but then this is reflected in the reasonable room price. Wifi was unconnectable!
