Score from 157 reviews Very good
The location was quiet with a shop and some pubs nearby all within walking distantance, local attractions were also only a short drive away. The hotel itself looks lovely and and was a pleasure to stay at. The room was gorgeous with a comfy bed and wonderful bathroom. Would deffinatly return.
Quiet / peaceful stay. Large room and good speed of Wi-fi.
Oscars restaurant - nice place but very small portions of food.
Friendly pleasant staff, comfortable room
It`s a shame the hotel was looking a little dated and in need of some TLC. there were light bulbs out all over the hotel. And a good lick of paint is definitely needed
We have family who live in Rossett, so the location was fantastic for us.
Nothing really, only the bathroom was a little dirty on some of the tiles round the sink and dusty skirting boards round the loo with a few "long black " hairs sticking to the loo roll holder! Just silly things but I had noticed sorry.
Nice, quiet location. Ea
Location, staff (particularly,) food and beers all added to good experience.
2 x lights in room not working (housekeeping checks ?)
staff very friendly ... any problems dealt with very quickly.. breakfast and evening meal excellent.. haved stayed at hotel before.. would.recommend to anyone
This was convenient for returning to South Wales after meetings in North Wales. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. The room was very comfortable. The bargain deal was very good value.
There was an evening conference booked in which occupied the access between the hotel and the restaurant. Since it was a freezing February evening this was not ideal! Not quite sure why but I couldn't access the wifi.
The location was approx 6 miles south of Chester. It was an old hotel but clean & tidy. The breakfast was good value at £5 pp per day. Parking was acceptable. Beds were comfy and room was a reasonable size.
No lift to the first floor. No coffee or milk initially. Only one bath and one hand towel . Although the receptionist did sort this out fairly quickly. Bathroom radiator did not work.
The friendliness of the staff.
The double bed, or two twins pushed together, lumpy duvet and flat pillows
Breakfast was good and staff pleasant. Reception staff were helpful.
Hotel is very 'tired'. It was not to the standard I would have expected. The rooms are quite drab but the bathroom really needed attention
We both where happy with everything, very happy. Only one small issue...
It was cold outside and the room was nice, warm and welcoming, but after a while was too hot. I turned down the Radiator, but the room was still too hot even after a couple of hours. We slept with the window open, which was ok then and luckily no noise outside. This is the only criticism and will stay again. ;)
The hotel was in a quiet location. The room was huge but needed an uplift.
I think they need to give the rooms a coat of paint and fill in the cracks. They should advertise Oscars restaurant loudly - it's a treasure.
Very close to Chester but out in the country. Ideal for stayover and was very comfortable. Would definitely use again.
Wifi didnt work in room, only in reception.
The hotel is in a quiet location with nice rooms, bar and restaurant. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Mobile phone connection in the hotel is noy very good. However, this can be a blessing sometimes.
We were happy with the location of the hotel and size of our Executive room. We ate well with good food and service in the restaurant, both at breakfast and dinner.
Maintenance is poor. Our room looked superficially good, but had two lights without working bulbs. It took 3 trips to Reception to get a correct and working table lamp bulb (first a bulb with the wrong fitting, second replacement already broken), but apparently the hotel had no spares at all for the ceiling lamp. The TV didn't switch on properly (corrected by staff) and then had no sound (loose leads corrected by staff on a second room visit). The toilet was hard to flush (average 4 tries) and the white toilet seat was damaged such that it looked permanently soiled. The bathroom was very hot with no thermostat facility on the radiator. We stayed 2 nights, but our room was not serviced on the second day, so we returned to an unmade bed and dirty teacups. This hotel has the potential to offer a very pleasant stay but didn't make the grade for us. The staff on site did their best to help when we had problems, but management seems to be failing.
Bed was very comfortable. Price was good, Good breakfast Helpful staff Location
Funiture and fixtures require some attention or updating I.e shower head and curtain was dirty, shower rail was rusty. Stains on the small pillows
bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep shower powerful
radiator too close to toilet had to fix TV only 1 set of towels even though 2 guests no biscuits in compliment tray
Great location & friendly staff
Poor choice on the breakfast buffet. I have a gluten allergy and there was very little I could have and no alternatives
The room was beautiful, clean my only issue was the bedding
The bed seemed bitty and the duvet didnt fit in the cover properly made it a little uncomfortable.
Being able to walk the lanes although quite icy
Great stay for a great price
One point would be the free samples in the bathroom were half used.
Spacious room, perfect for a night or two. Free wifi was great.
The toiled wouldn't flush at all, there was few cracks in the walls but not a big problem. Could hear people trough walls, crying baby and laud music too.
Room was excellent but could have done with more than one bath towel and 1 hand towel for two of us
Breakfast served from ban marie stations was found to be only luke warm. Most annoying.
This was our second visit to Rossett Hall Hotel. Your stay begins with a friendly welcome from Reception staff who are on hand with any queries, a comfortable and clean room with all facilities and requirements (lovely wide beds), excellent selection evening menu and ends with a scrumptious full English breakfast. Quiet hotel with ample car parking spaces, set back from main road - no traffic sounds in rooms. Located halfway between Chester and Wrexham.
