The politeness, confidence, knowledge and professionalism of a very ahppy young staff. The food
The view from the ground floor isn't as good as the impression given by the promotional photo. This isn't a hotel that you would want to "lounge" around for a while as there are no good lounges
Location for onward highland touring.
Bed light switch, you need long arms, Lack of surfaces for bathroom towels or any other equipment required in disabled bathroom.
It is a very nice and calm hotel. Our room was upgraded to see view superior for the same price. Very simple but still comfortable. We could enjoy see breeze during the night. Lady at the reception has been very helpful with some advise about the area. Breakfast was tasty.
Food, facilities and staff
The reception staff were very nice and helpful, the cooked breakfast was very good, and the location of the hotel was first class.
Queuing for breakfast, waiting far too long for food to be served in an empty restaurant, once the food arrived it was cold. The hard working restaurant staff got a lot right but for what I paid I never got value.
lovely building, good size room nice gardens
member of bar staff should really think about a new job, sullen and uncaring
Hard to find at first. Restaurant closes early staff not wanting to serve food in bar after 9.15. Pictures on internet appear to show location more on water edge which it is not.
We stayed at Rosslea Hall whilst attending the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. We chose to stay there as they had not grossly over-inflated their prices as had most hotels in the area. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful, our room was large with views over the Firth of Clyde and the full Scottish breakfast very tasty. All in all, an excellent choice and I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to others.
Clean, comfortable rooms. A decent bar area and good restaurant.
Pricey food in the restaurant. Strange little reception.
Everything was just OK. There is nothing I'd say I really liked.
Room was very small and without any decoration. Breakfast was OK. The location itself has not much to offer.
The hotel was beautiful, spotless and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were stylish and comfortable and we couldn't fault it in any way. We would recommend this hotel as an ideal getaway.
The only thing that was missing was a lift, giving a better facility for the disabled.
Friendly, helpful staff. Both breakfast and dinner were great. Good bathroom facilities.
Staff were execellent. Access and parking Dining Room
Signage coming from Helenburgh was poor. We drove past without finding the hotel but coming back we saw two signs.
We loved the location, a very short walk from the water. Our double room was very comfortable, the shower was lovely and powerful.
My children found their twin room a bit cramped - the beds were pushed together so it felt more like a double room than a twin.
Situation Good sized well appointed room Helpful staff
Coffee at breakfast
It is some kind of strange, but this hotel did not at all leave any impression. Everything was ok, but not they did not seem very interested in their guests. They were polite, but made not effort to make you feel cosy and welcome. We would not stay there again, as we have so much nicer experiences from good B & B. But again, the standard was quite ok, room nice, but nothing special.
They could do a bigger effort, to seem interested in their guests, to make you feel welcome.
bathroom extraction did not work and light had intermittent fault . neither issue was resolved
Excellent food and staff very attentive. Very welcoming and friendly. Would be happy to stay again.
Would be concerned that the rooms would be too hot in summer.
Internet access was a real problem. Do not stay here if you need internet access for business. It was possible to download emails but not access the web etc
attentive staff, lovely meal, lovely setting.
room was very hot - not complaining, but windows didn't open wide enough for safety reasons. Chap at next table seemed to be determined to complain about his meal - all very stage-managed. Not through fault of staff. Chancer!
setting, food, restaurant service
no tv reception
The room was spacious with a large bed and modern decor. The food was good. There is a nice lounge and bar.
There was no-one on the desk on arrival and we had to wait a while. There was a very long wait between courses when we dined in the restaurant.
Excellent service from staff from the minute we entered Reception.
Unfortunately the huge bed was too hard.......
Location and generally helpful staff esp. Julia our waitress at dinner .
Given a car park facing room at rear of hotel despite the fact that a an identical sea view room was available on the same floor . We agreed to take the sea view room at a £10 supplement . We were told dinner could not be taken between 6.30 and 8.45 because of a function and when we arrived at 8.45 we were told initially that dinner at £25 had to be booked on line but this was waived after we said that this was not obvious when booking . To be fair when checking out next morning the £10 room supplement was also waived because of the dinner times. Biscuits served with cheese were terrible .
