I stayed here18 mths ago so decided to go back. Firstly, I had only 2 channels on my TV as the remote was missing, when I asked the manager if he could provide me with one he said he was too busy with a xmas party and would try and get to me that evening. He didn't so I had to stare at the four walls that night and have an early one. Next day, and NO APPOLIGY from the manager and him off duty in the afternoon. It took a further 3 attempts to get this sorted, I had the same dirty towels for three days ,no toilet roll in the bathroom after day 1 or tea and coffee facilities despite a daily maid service! There was a lot of noise from the other guest at night also. When booking out what looked like the full staff were outside have a fag break and no one came to assist me so I just left my room card on the bar. I was very disappointed as I was visiting my children on the Isle of Man and my stay was not a pleasant one, I slept badly as a result. Wouldn't stay here again.
Staff was great. They gave me a suitable room on ground level because I had my (young) child with me. Perfect. Room was excellent. Food is also really nice.
Being so close to the beach - bus to Airport passes by so that makes getting to the airport easy. Staff very accommodating. Information about tours available.
A bit of a walk to the town centre - a little hard if loaded up. Getting to breakfast when it is raining a problem.
Excellent service. Room spotlessly clean.
Clean, comfortable room and bathroom, good breakfast
On Booking.com's website the photo of hotel showed a ramp in the front. As we were coming with a baby in a pram this swayed our decision to come here. However the photo was of the Mereside 2 doors down and where we went to have breakfast. This photo is misleading and also we were not told breakfast was in another building.
Staff very welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast and meals were very good. Bedrooms were excellent with spotless clean bedding and towels.
Main bar in sister hotel where the breakfast area was, looks shabby and needs upgraded. No lift to bedrooms.
The owners were very friendly and accommodating
We had to leave our hotel to another for breakfast and it could have been cleaner we has to repeat to staff what we needed in the room and they always forgot what they were suppose to bring their minds are not at business at hand
We enjoyed the mixture of residents and were impressed with the food and its presentation. All in all we much enjoyed our stay.
Nothing really. Refer to my suggestion above re bedroom curtain
Nice clean room,
Top floor location, 4 flights with heavy bag, hallway untidy and needs renovation
Staff friendly including kitchen staff. Ease of and plesant breakfast. Convenient bar facilities.
Overlooked from other rooms privacy without drawing curtains.
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good breakfast selections and other meals.
Dearth of parking, usually ending up on the prom ending up with a long trek ending uphill hike to reach the hotel ! Having to go nextdoor but one for breakfast and or other meals. Especially if its raining.
the lift in the mereside
not having a lift in the rosslyn.the stairs were a bit steep for us oldies!
Room and bed were both very clean. Toilet facilities good
A poached egg that tasted of fish. Milk at breakfast time that was sour.Tables in the dining room that were sticky. Did not like the fact that we had to travel to another hotel that was two doors down to be fed
Well done, Rosslyn - many other places had a 2 night minimum stay and I only needed 1 night. They also have decent sized bath towels and a very well-stocked tea/coffee making tray. Although a solo traveller, I was given a large, comfortable room at the top of the hotel, with a sea view.
Lack of a reception - had to book in at the bar next door, but that wasn't really a problem as the manager was very helpful. Breakfast being served in the same bar may have been a nuisance in bad weather, but lovely to sit outside there with a beer before unpacking!
Ensuite Bedroom was decently decorated and had adequate facilities.
No lift and 2 flights of stairs to bedroom. Breakfast served at different property. No reception in either building. Outside security door requiring 7 digit code - difficult for someone with arthritis.
Hard to say.
Going to adjacent hotel for breakfast which was poor quality and not topped up. Only cold dried up remnants left regardless of time. Only had two breakfasts other guests were not happy either .
Room was far better and bigger than expected great location would stay agsin and have told friends what a great little B&B it is.
......staff definitely "aims to please"....rooms are kept clean....nice array of breakfast foods
....the duvet bedcovering was too heavy/warm for the temperature of the room.....to have the choice of a lighter blanket or sheet would be nice!
almost everything , very , very good , would recommend , will go again , staff service was very good , well done.
leaving to go home
Great stay, good room and facilities but not there that much as there for the bowls festival No mirror In the room but supplied when I asked! Very helpful staff and good breakfast would stay again!
The view from the room as at the back of the hotel but it didn't ruin my stay would have been nicer if I had a sea view
A very nice place to stay in an excellent location.
The wi-fi worked well for the first couple of days on stay, but thereafter was non-existent !
Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi name and password were provided without my having to ask and my ipad/emails worked all the time. Bedroom was modern, tastefully decorated and clean. Beds were comfortable.
Food ok but menu a bit limited. Although there was a sign in the ensuite to the effect that any towels left on the floor would be replaced, this did not happen. We don't discard towels every day as we believe in being green, but the shower mat was soaking wet so we left that to be replaced. Instead, it was folded up, still very wet, and put back on the rail. There was contradictory information in the bedroom about mealtimes, taking food into rooms etc. We assume that one lot was out of date, but it wasn't clear which it was. The obsolete lot needed to be binned.
Location, staff were helpful, breakfast good, rooms nice
Stayed for a couple of days to see a few TT practice sessions - great location walk up to grandstand a bit steep but doable. It was ideal, breakfast was lovely and the staff really friendly.
