The owners were very pleased to welcome you into their home, and nothing seemed to much trouble...Max, the dog, very pleased to welcome everyone...the breakfasts, especially the cooked ones, were very nice, the beds very comfortable, and overall, I would recommend this family run hotel. The decor of the room was a little dated, but otherwise very clean... |

Nice location Very small room - the en suite was more like a cupboard - again tiny - there were 15 rooms in the building - only three families staying - and we were put in the smallest room imaginable. The breakfast was very poor - burnt sausage and hard bacon - very poor value for money |

A warm welcome and shown around downstairs. An excellent service at breakfast and the variety of food available at breakfast and afternoon tea. The television in the room did not have very good reception and the toilet could have been better. |

we thought the hotel was lovely the staff were fantastic and very helpful the room we stayed in was perfect with everything we needed. We bought one of the walking guides that the hotel had wrote and published and found it brilliant it was step by step walks from the hotel door and we would recomend it to anyone. I would certainly stay here again. |

the hotel was really warm and comfortable, the jacuzzi bath perfect after a long day's walking, and we liked the fourposter bed. the lounge was a nice feature, well stocked with books, papers and magazines, really nice to have somewhere to go if it was raining. the breakfasts were delicious, and the staff were all really warm and friendly. Altogether, a lovely place to stay. hope to be back! |

The staff were very friendly & gave a very competent service. A very good aura about the place. Was very central for Ambleside & a good centre for fell walking. Bed springs seemed abit 'knackered'. |

Excellent welcome and service, made me feel immediately at home with their friendliness and care, great breakfast. I was a single traveller so could not expect too much but the room was very tiny. Provision of a table and chair would have been nice. Otherwise it was very comfortable. |

Breakfast Bathroom, the shower needs updating and also the position of the television, this needs to be higher up for example on the wall. |

The proprietors were very friendly. The room was comfortable and quiet. There was a nice conservatory room on the front of the hotel. There was no fish dish offered at breakfast. |

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, lovely breakfasts. Fab location. Shower wasn't great as suddenly went really hot!!Room too small, but we did book it as cheaper, so that was our fault. But quite hot as room at top of house. |
