Location for Eurostar is perfect literlly cross the road and you are there Concept is interesting and something different so fun Rooms comfortable clean and ok size for London Staff helpful and friendly Nice yard out the back for us smokers
TV in room didn't seem to work (not really an issue for me as wasn't looking to watch) Kings Cross is not the nicest part of London!
The location next to King's cross. Easy arrival with Eurostar The hotel experience is one in a lifetime. Fridenly staff Cosy hotel. Not too big!
Rooms look bigger on the picture
The staff, Comfort of bed, shower, cleanliness, hotel was warm, towels, breakfast - simple but delicious and sufficient, - in fact all the important things.
We just walked in, weren't even asked for a name.. nobody seemed to care. No elevator and super narrow staircase. The rooms are so tiny you can barely move around or place your stuff somewhere. Way too expensive for what you get and staff is basically not present.
Decor - shabby-chic as the hotel name suggests, very unusual & well done. Location - central and easy to find. Beds - large and very comfortable. Bathroom/shower - nice shower. Staff - really friendly and helpful. Food - Great breakfast.
Beautiful room, great views and fantastic breakfast. We'll be back.
I booked a 2-room junior suite for my teenage son and myself as a bit of a treat after hopping off a 24 hour flight and before starting work. Instead, they tried to fob us off with a tiny double room without even enough space for our suitcases. We ended up having to move to some nondescript hotel around the corner - very disappointing, as if staff had given us some (any!) notice that they could not accommodate us in the rooms we had booked, we could have arranged to stay somewhere far more suitable. Very disappointing level of service.
the whole place decoration & design staff is attentive and friendly breakfast is a feast
Character, clean, good quality bed. Friendly / welcoming staff.
EVERYTHING, AND I WILL BE WRITING TO TRADING STANDARDS AND HEALTH & SAFETY AND THE LOCAL COUCIL
the convenience of the location and the fact that it was near another hotel when we had to leave before even spending the night there.
The fact that it was an unsafe fire hazard with surly staff, not to mention that us we left the office was left open and anyone's' details on screen were visible.
Excellent location, friendly welcome, good choice at breakfast, cosy rooms, terrace. No storage for suitcases so only recommended for 1 or 2 nights.
No lift and I was on the 3rd floor with narrow stairs. No aircon. £163 and no breakfast. The smell of frying and kebabs wafting 3 floor up.
Loved the shabby chic decor and the large bathroom. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Located very close to King's Cross station which was useful for me.
Bedroom area is quite small, no tv.
Decor is amazing, really eclectic, Shower amazing,
Unique design of the place, the combination of shabby old and expensive design is very special. The breakfast is great, the staff very helpful and the location 2 min. from Kings Cross.
The rooms are very small.
Fantastic hotel in excellent location, beautiful vintage rooms & staff were brilliant
The vintage feel was great in the hotel bit the 1970s TV in the room was perhaps a bit too far as this didn't work
We thought the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious.
Decor, style, service
Location near trainstation
Bad service, small room, narrow stair, etc. 200 pounds per night is too expensive for this hotel. I recommed other 4 star hotels. I stayed 1 night here during 15 days, and this one was the worst hotel...not even close. Do not waste your money!!!
very unique and special. great personal service
little bit too far past shabby chic.
Rooms are tiny. Wifi doesn't work. This isn't a hotel, more of a bnb. The room was 1/3 it's normal price and still far far to expensive. No where to even put your bag down, terrible shower I couldn't even stand in and worst of all when draining the bath the room fills up with the smell of sewage. Don't stay here there are many nicer places to stay.
So many hotels are identical, and I stay in a lot of hotels! It was really nice to have something that was out of the ordinary for once, yet still in a good location (right next to Kings Cross station) and with functionality ... free wireless etc. A great breakfast, an extremely helpful and courteous staff, overall it made a very good impression.
