The welcome and the breakfast.
The weather! But seriously, there is nothing worth mentioning.
very clean, well presented and comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent and our hostess very helpful.
The electric shower is rubbish as pretty much all electric showers are....and Newton Stewart doesn't have the most appealing restaurants if you eat out in the evening.
The house is ideally located a few minutes walk from the main street in Newton Stewart, set in mature gardens with views from our bedroom of the surrounding hills. Our room was quite large and tastefully decorated. The hosts were welcoming and breakfast was very good. (We were asked to pre-order the previous evening but I think this was to spread the load in the kitchen the following morning) We were familiar with the area but there was plenty of advice for things to see and do.
Location. Bright dining room, Spacious and comfortable bedroom.
Restricted that only book in a set times Breakfast - 1 (that's one) small rasher of bacon, tinned mushrooms,!!! - fried egg and tomato OK. Attitude When mentioned that TV in room v small (size of a laptop) was told "you don't need to watch golf on TV when on holiday" Said yes" Ryder Cup" . Told well could have gone down to a pub and watched it there.
Clean comfortable room. Friendly staff.
Entrance overarched by huge hedge - impediment to travel with a bike on the roof of the car.
security & safe parking in its own grounds; peaceful & no neighbourhood noise; lovely grand old house & well-furnished; constant hot water & pleasant ensuite; Perfect.
The location and quality of the furnishings. The food was very good.and the hostess looked after us well.
The entrance to the property is rather spoiled by overhanging shrubbery, making it difficult to find on arrival
Great large room with lovely views. Peaceful place, no noise.
We can't speak highly enough about our stay at Rowallan Guest House from our beautiful rooms and breakfast, to the attention given to us by Rob & Julie. They made us feel us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
Good location close to the town centre. Spacious and clean room and very good breakfast. Very hospitable hosts.
Attention to personal needs and high standard of comfort
Possibly making choices for breakfast just after arrival but appreciated the purpose
Rob and Julie were the consummate hosts in a wonderful setting. We were made to feel at home straight away. Lovely room very clean.
In an excellent location, Rowallan is run by a fantastic couple. Nothing is too much trouble for Julie and Rob. It's a pleasure to be their guest.
Warm welcome and friendly staff. No trouble to accommodate our two bicycles. Good breakfast. Handy location for own.
Owners very friendly & welcoming would recommend to anyone
We arrived early and were allowed into our room without a fuss. Excellent secure storage for bicycles. Really friendly host who gave us directions to the town centre. Beautiful breakfast served with a smile
Large bedroom. Comfortable bed and lovely bedlinen. Lots of hot water and nice towels. Breakfast was excellent but felt with only 7 guests we could have had more leeway in when we choose to have our breakfast.
Being asked to choose an exact time to come down for breakfast. TV was very small.
Very comfortable room and great access to local facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff.
TV although not the most important thing was very small. Could not get into room until after 4.30pm and breakfast times and choice a bit regimented.
A wonderful old property, thoughtfully converted, with great facilities. Fabulous service, with delicious breakfast - definitely try the Haggis! Helpful, friendly and knowledgable hosts.
Quite, well positioned, nice room overlooking lovely garden. Friendly owners.
Bread used for toast was very thin. No wifi in bedroom, but OK in lounge. Switched TV off with remote and it started flashing in the middle of the night, had to get out of bed to switch it off.
beautiful house, very comfotable, spacious room with lots of wardrobe and drawer space. Easy walking distance of local amenities.Friendly people and excellent breakfast.
Very well located. Just 5 minutes walk to middle of delightful small town. Very friendly owners and excellent breakfast
Only negative was no wifi in room - needed to go to guest lounge.
Very friendly owners. Very clean. Good tasty breakfast. Easy access to town and surrounding area.
Decor a bit dated. Room was very warm due to unusual Scottish heatwave; could have used a fan.
Spacious bedroom Lovely garden Friendly people Close to centre of town but quiet location
