We were in Perth for one night only to see the Dnipro Opera Company from Ukraine perform La Boheme at the city's concert hall. But the city is well known to us.
Parts of Perth are looking a little down at heel these days but it is still a pleasant city to visit with lots of facilities and good eateries.
We ate at the excellent Both3rs Italian restaurant before the opera. Good value and delicious food.

People are friendly, the mix of old buildings and modern ones are great, city centre could do with a big investment, lots of empty premises, if you want a haircut, nails done or a fast food takeout then you have plenty to choose from.

Like many towns and cities Perth has a lot of empty shops.
Like many towns and cities Perth has a lot of empty shops. Lots of cafes. All the usual shops in the town centre within easy walking distance. The station is a 10-15 minute walk from the centre, Lots of car parking but not free; Look out for parking wardens ! Have to feed meters every 4 hours. Good food at the Salutation Hotel but lots of other places available.

Perth is a beautiful City, lovely friendly people, we are always made welcome. I would advise anyone to visit. The River Tay, is a joy to view, as you have a stroll along. Delicious food in a terrific range of restaurants in the city centre. Taboo particularly is an incredible French restaurant. Happy staff, who cannot do enough for you! Other restaurants cater for every taste. We return regularly!

Seen changes as have visited over many years.
Seen changes as have visited over many years. The centre has lost its main shops. Nice cafes around the old Kirk. Nice walk along the river - look out for the otters and nice walk around North Inch (park).
I can't imagine there being a hotel in Scotland with better value for money. Highlights for me were : Polite, friendly, and respectful staff; a large clean and quiet room in excellent decorative condition with a cracking view across the tay; lovely open fire crackling away in a comfortable lounge area; a breakfast to satisfy the best of appetites. And all presented in a lovely well-maintained building with plenty of hints of its history but much modernity too.
This first-time customer Will be back!
This was the best place we stayed in Scotland, The Sky Lodge Perth was a very great surprise in our trip. We were nicely welcomed by the staff, our room was very clean, with a very good amount of space, the bathroom had a bath and a nice shower. The highest point was the breakfast, everything was delicious, there was a lot of options, croissant, waffles, breads, coffe, Milk, Juice, yorguts and cereals, all fresh and refield by the staff time by time. We loved everything about Sky Lodge Perth
Breakfast N/A
Situated in a suburb of Perth provided excellent parking facilities for two cars. Easy walking distance to a Co-Op local and 5 minutes from a dog-friendly pub/restaurant which did a super Sunday lunch.
The accommodation was warm, and nicely equipped; we felt very at home there.
Treasure Hunt map around Perth is a great way to see the sights, easy drive to St Andrews for a super walk on the beach with the dogs and many lovely doggy cafes in the city.
We received a warm and friendly welcome from Anne and David. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated and fitted out. Loved having a fridge in the room with fresh milk offered, armchairs to relax in, and the comfiest bed of our tour of Scotland. Breakfast was also the best of the trip, especially loved the fresh fruit. Very much appreciated the advance restaurant recommendation, everything worked out perfectly. Hope we have a chance to stay again.
A lovely hotel just outside Perth with a short drive into the city. The service was very good; well trained, friendly and professional staff. Food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast. There are a few areas to sit around and relax and the bar was well stocked and cosy. The beds were comfortable and the room had plenty of room for the 3 of us. Plenty of parking near the front door.
Sam is a fantastic host. One of the best host we ever had. She was very charming and cooked us a very delicious and elegant breakfast! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. We would definitely stay at Sam’s again if we ever came back to Perth. Thank you Sam for an amazing stay for our family!
We cannot wait to return to this amazing place we immediately felt at home David was the perfect host. The attention to detail was second to none everything was catered for and breakfast wow wow cooked to perfection. This was the first night of our 9 day tour of Scotland just wished we could have stayed longer.
Definitely the best shower pressure in Scotland! Lovely big front room on ground floor, with extra amenities such as hairdryer, mirrors, couch, with tea, coffee, biscuits. very amenable hosts who swapped rooms for us as our booked room had a leaky shower even before we arrived.
Good location on the way back from Scotland to Yorkshire, great eating place right next door with good food and great prices. Breakfast was an added bonus as a help yourself buffet. The bed in our room was the biggest bed we’ve ever seen and was very comfortable.
Hotel a little bit tired but warm and friendly staff. Breakfast was very traditional - black pudding; baked beans, bacon etc. Coffee was okayish and service was attentive. Toasters are pretty feeble.
The location was ok. Close to centre and station. It was a cheap option for a one night stay in Perth. I think it was a really nice hotel back in the day. The gentleman at reception was welcoming.
Position excellent but corridors have unpleasant smell, beds need upgrading and an indication that hotel caters for large bus groups noted. That does not improve the experience of other patrons.
Lovely location for a wedding we were going to. Don’t intend visiting again only because I don’t think we will be going back to Scotland. Location ok if you have a car, beautiful walks.
The lady on reception when we checked in was lovely. We felt that she was welcoming us into her house. The hotel was in a lovely location so quiet and not far to get into Perth.
This hotel was out in the country and was very quiet. Off season meant there were few people and the weather was cool. Fun place to visit. Breakfast was the only problem.
