nice location and grounds .good food.and friendly staff.
lounge bar not open no comfortable place to relax (probably due to time of the year)
Amazing scenery.. very quiet.. nice bar... food good
we booked two rooms, the top floor room with lake view is perfect, but the downstairs regular room is a bit small and dark. the food is decent and the bar is lovely. location is perfect for ben lomond hiking and other outdoor activities around
no wifi in the room. the bar has wifi signal but never worked. a bit expensive.
Just about everything!
Only thing which let it down slightly was breakfast not the best. Otherwise excellent
Friendly staff. Hotel ideally located for ascent of Ben Lomond.
Food quality varied from mediocre to good. Would still return due to location of premises.
The staff were generally very helpful, especially the Hungarian waitress. The room was spacious and clean, and had a bath (very important to me - most other places we stayed ignored the request for a bath, or promised one but didn't even have any!!).
A couple of staff members were a bit off-hand and appeared disinterested. Wasn't keen on the fact cases were left in an unlocked shed following drop-off and prior to collection by bag-carrying service.
Location was superb for those looking to hike the Highlands trail, Ben Lomond, etc. Restaurant/pub food was good
Location, rooms, food and drink were all very good. A welcome sight after 6 hours on Ben Lomond.
Staff were efficient but not particularly friendly such as we had experienced during other parts of our fortnight journeys in Scotland. Nevertheless, my adult son and myself enjoyed the one night in this hotel.
The location, the views, the food and quick service
A wonderful place at the end of the road. Peaceful with beautiful loch views. Efficient & friendly- will definitely go back.
Beautiful location and rooms are excellent. As a WHW walker the bath was so welcome! Bar is friendly, welcoming and staff are helpful. Pet friendly although £10 per night is a bit steep.
Very disappointed with food especially breakfast. 'Curry' in the bar was insipid even for a Korma and the chicken was only just cooked, staff 'hovered' to see if I had finished. Breakfast: longlife juice, limited cereal, no yoghurt/fruit. Rubbery scambled egg arrived as I was half way through my cereal and waitress seemed oblivious to inconvenience of this. Food matters to me and has deteriorated since my husband and I stayed a few years ago. It would put me off a return.
Friendly welcome, comfortable clean room, efficient service, congenial bar, good food.
The Rowardennan Hotel is in the perfect spot. It is located right on the banks of the beautiful Loch Lomond. We came across the hotel by accident a year and half ago and knew we wanted to come back for a stay. The room was comfortable and clean. The restaurant served decent food at a reasonable price. The Oak Tree in Balmaha, just a few miles down the road, is a great pub/restaurant/tea room. We had a great stay and would love to go back again.
Hotel staff and restaurant staff were outstanding
The room was beautiful as was the location. We got a great sleep and the room was so cosy
The menu was all the same and was rather expensive for what you got. There wasn't any activities so my boyfriend and I spent most of the time in our room. One of the staff I felt was quite rude and intimidating
Open fire, sitting outside ...
Disappointed with the breakfast buffet - non-existent, poor choice of cereal and nothing else...
Beautiful and comfy room. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic lake view.
We asked for a room with a view and we got one, absolutely perfect. Food served in bar was good, quick and hot with great atmosphere with lots of hikers etc.
Log fires, outside area if weather good. Food was good & although very busy not long to wait. Very homely atmosphere.
TV in room not working although staff tried not resolved. East side of Loch Lomond & if used as a stopover for highlands a long journey round the loch to get on your way. Comfortable seating area with bar was not open.
Our room was really nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.
The restaurant could be a bit cleaner, would make the impression of the Hotel even better
Had a room right next to reception with a view of garden and car park but all u see is bushes would of liked a view of the loch but overall lovely hotel and would go back again
Great views, lovely room, nice staff
No WiFi, motion sensing lights in the bathroom, hallway and stairs a bit scruffy, poor menu and food at dinner
Very unhelpful and confrontational hotel manager.
Room was modern and comfortable.
Unsmiling booking in and the man walked ahead of myself and friend who were both struggling with heavy luggage upstairs. Was told by a more friendlier member of staff at bar that handling bags against Health and Safety policy. Could he not have told us that at the outset instead of being greeted by a robotic expression. Same at table when taking away dishes. Had to struggle to take bags down but a fellow male holiday maker helped out. Won't be back and won't recommend for West Highland Way - keep walking.
