Rowton Castle is a beautiful 17th-century Grade II listed building, set in 17 acres of tranquil grounds, and 6 miles from the historic market town of Shrewsbury. Some of the rooms have a four-poster bed, hydrotherapy bath or luxurious spa bath. All rooms are individually designed with elegant décor, complete with a TV and complimentary wireless internet access. Set in an oak-panelled dining room with velvet furnishings, the award-winning Cedar Restaurant serves excellent cuisine in a warm, relaxing environment. Warm welcome, friendly, helpful and attentive staff, beautiful room, delicious food (catered superbly with my wife's coeliac condition), quiet rural location, relaxing atmosphere. TV in room was smaller than expected.

Stunning location yet so close to Shrewsbury; very helpful and friendly staff; I was staying on business but will definitely re-visit for pleasure! No lift Breakfast not starting until 0730 is a bit late for busienss guests who have to be elsewhere by 0800.
