Pet friendly, exceptionally clean, luxury bathrooms, generous sized bed, comfortable, very accommodating reception staff. Lovely owner we met. I love love love this place. Just wished I could've held my wedding here.
House keeping team doesn't seem very happy.
Price of bar drinks and breakfast.
This was an excellent venue for a weekend spa break and visit into Chester via taxi (£8.00). The staff couldnt have been nicer or more attentive. We stayed in the first week of August, which was Wedding season. Despite this, we were still treated as the most important couple in the hotel. The lovely manager even asked us the next morning if the noise had disturbed us from the wedding reception. We didnt hear a thing!
Our room (room 8) had no views at all, although we spent little time in there anyway as we stayed around the pool all day. This was a last minute booking and i can only presume that the hotel was fully booked due to the wedding guests. Perhaps we were placed here as it was the furthest bedroom from the function room where the band were playing. Not a major problem.
Everything from the friendly staff to excellent food, comfy beds, great rooms.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room small but clean and excellent room facilities, decor lovely. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends
Locations, gardens and facilities as well as attentive staff
Bar staff were a bit lost at times with simple drink orders.
It is in a lovely location and very close to Chester. We stayed for 4 nights and were upgraded to a Master suite which was lovely . The food was good - we had both bar meals and dinner . The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel.
Nothing we did not like. Breakfast could be included in the room rates which would be a small improvement .
TV in bathroom and the hold room
shampoo and soap dispensers fix to wall, could get anything out of? shampoo and soap single dispensers on table near sink would have help me? Over 64 years.
Friendly staff and a comfortable feel
bed too soft
Location, comfort . Good restaurant for entertaining family guests.
No lift to 2/f bedroom.
Good food helpful staff

The staff were wonderful - polite, cheerful, helpful and very efficient.
The mattress was very soft and I did not sleep well.

little dated on rooms but ok, had to wait a wile for attendant in the spa as he was elsewhere, but no real complaints
Cant think of anything!
Excellent food, well cooked and served. Spacious bar and attentive staff.
Food was excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Staff were courteous and attentive. Spa & Fitness facilities were very good.
Pool was a little on the small side.
We got married at the hotel over 15 years ago, and hadn't been back since. We mentioned this, when booking, and when we checked into the hotel, we received a free upgrade to a gorgeous suite.
Customer service The setting The Room
Slightly over priced Food was good have had better
I really enjoyed the facilities and the room was really good
The food menu was a bit of an aquired taste with certain meals
excellent country side location withen easy reach of chester and wales. Beautiful building with posh bar and restaurant. Outstanding food quality, Modern and comfortable spa. marvellous service. Overall one the best countryside hotel we have stayed. VALUE for money
bar room [althogh we were in a recently refurbished junior suite which was very well done but for a number of irritating ''snag list ''issues --one electric bedside power point dead -bathroom door dod not close as it was coming away from hinge-soap dispenser in shower did not work --shower handle [to turn on]came away in hand as not properly threaded on to pipe ---and finally no place to put bar of soap on washbasin --staff were friendly in bar but qite amateurish in dining room where relatively few people were eating
deeserts were very poor --after good starters /mains -wine service pretty amateurish --pointed out that a bottle of wine left off dinner bill and no ''thank you'' and bill took for ever to be recalculated !we were there day of wedding and i suspect that staff under lot of pressure --next day there was also wedding but they had exclusive use of hotel --as they seem to survive on weddings should thet tell you you are 'outsider'' in busy function hotel ?
We stayed in the Fairfax room. It was lovely and clean. The food served was excellent and it was great to sit beside the cosy log fire. Highly recommend this hotel.
Found bed uncomfortable and was disappointed with the suite
Decent sized rooms, great facilities.
May be due to taste however there was a lack of down time around the venue. A cd/dvd library would be ideal.
