We chose the hotel for family reasons - one of my brothers & two of my sisters were staying there too, and it is near a cousin's flat (we were in Edinburgh for a memorial service for an aunt who recently died at the age of 90). We found it very conveniently located, and we enjoyed using the pool. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Some areas were rather cold! |

The room was beautiful and so much larger than you get in modern hotels. The staff were all very freindly and the Christmas decorations looked wonderful. |

The hotel was very comfortable with a central location and good facilities. Jack who worked in the reception area was the most helpful and profesional member of staff. When we arrived our room was not ready and we were told it would take about twenty minutes which turned out to be an hour. This was frustrating because we were only staying one night and wanted to go sightseeing. The quality of the staff varied from excellent to poor. |

The room was comfortable, spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. The restraunt offered a good choice of delicious meals. The concierge (a young boy from Chile, I forgot his name) was exceptionally helpful. The lighting for the purpose of reading by the table was poor. |

Good location - perfect for weekend away - for shopping, sightseeing. The cleanliness of the room was not perfect - did not replenish items - did not clean room thoroughly. We asked the staff twice to sort out something for us but they did not get back to us on both occasions. |

We felt the bed was really small compared to other 4 star hotels. Also bath very small. Wouldn't probably stay here again because of this. |

Spacious room, very quiet for a city hotel (ask for a room overlooking the central area as although no view it is extremely quiet). Very good facilities and service. Great location in the city for shopping , sightseeing etc. Food in the restaurant good but very small servings. Be careful of the bill we were overcharged by the restaurant over 2 evenings ! Complimentary papers in the morning should mean complimentary but we were charged for the papers in the bill. It was not made clear the only paper that qualifies is the local Scottish daily. |

The hotel was very welcoming. It was clean and had obviously been refurbished recently. The staff were very helpful particularly the two concierges we spoke to. We had no complaints at all. |
