The hotel was really clean. Most of the staff were extremely friendly. Food was excellent. Loved the Friday grill night. View from room 5 was great. Room fresh and really clean.

Owner was a little off putting. First night was spoilt as they had hired the function room for a wake. Holidays should not mix with people that are grieving. Made me sad! Not a good start Bed was extremely hard. Would we stay again? Perhaps.

If there was a disapointment it was that the excellent carvery was not available in the evenings

Room very comfortable and clean. Although we paid extra for the breakfast it was very good. Staff were friendly and cheerful.

Because we booked through bookings.com and not direct, instructions were not clear from us to the hotel. We had booked a double room with an extra bed for our 11yr old daughter. We were told on arrival that we would be charged extra for a bigger room as the room we had been allocated was not big enough. It was only after I said we would have our money back and go back to the hotel we had stayed two nights at, that the manager decided to change rooms but charge for the extra bed. This was not a proper bed, just a fold down squeaky uncomfortable effort.

Unfortunately no lift Was looking forward to a carvery but they only do them lunchtimes and Sunday evenings. Disappointed in food. Water pressure very poor in shower..

Having to vacate the room at 1030. The 0900-0930 window for breakfast.

The location of the hotel is fantastic overlooking the bay. The size of our bedroom, No:8 was great, very large and a big bathroom too. The three course meal we had in the restaurant on New Years Eve was nice and a good price at £29, the house wine was only £10.95 too and good! The staff were helpful and friendly.

Their was no telephones in the bedroom so we were unable to contact reception to ask about booking meals/breakfast. Also, I think they could have installed bedside lamps as the overhead spot lights are a bit too bright.

The view. Parking on site.Quiet. General location in a beautiful part of the country. Lots to visit and do including National Trust places nearby and some fabulous harbours and headlands.

The room was extremely well equiped with a lovely sea view. It must have been designed by a woman as everything a women needs was in the right place ! The breakfast was excellent and more than value for money with extremely good friendly service. All staff were welcoming and friendly and effiecient. We will certainly be staying there again when we visit our family in Torbay.

Several issues disappointed us. The place is really a pub with a few rooms. We were disturbed at around 1 am by some very drunken and loud people who made their way up from the bar. The internet wi-fi did not work. Breakfast is first served at 9am - too late for us

Stayed second night in superior king room was very nice.

Stayed first night in room 3, standard double. Terrible room. Room was hot and only way to get ventilation was a window that opened up to a noisy kitchen ventilation pipe. No view.

Very good location. Stunning views. However, room 3 is a no no for me in the future. We had a rear view room which was next to the air vent unit, which was big & noisy !!!! Very little sleep that night. I am sure other rooms are better situated. Nice hotel just wrong room !

Room was extremely hot ,though can appreciate this was due to weather we couldn't open the window at night because of the noise of extractor or whatever on the roof ...

Room was large and very clean with lovely bathroom and large soft towels. We also had bottled water and teas, coffees, hot chocolate in the room. Staff were very friendly. The seaview from the room was lovely. There was a separate entrance so you do not have to walk through the restaurant. Food in the restaurant was delicious.

There are no bedside lamps so you either have to have the main bedroom light on or darkness. The menu in the restaurant is quite limited for vegetarians - however the one or two choices they do offer are presented very well.

The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable.

We couldn't open the window very far and it was a bit hot in the room during the night.
