Spacious room great location.
Television. Too. Small
Gorgeous View, Big bed, Lots of restaurants and pubs very close by, very calm and relaxing place :)
Good location, breakfast was good.
Bit dated and expensive for what it was.
Lovely view from room Friendly staff Good evening meal, very fresh Large room Spotlessly clean
Other guests a bit noisy but that isn't the hotel's fault
cost of the food and the quality of the food was excellent as was the price of the drink
wasn't nothing not to like
Very friendly and efficient staff. Large, spotless room. Food was so good we ate there twice - carvery was the best we've had. Beautiful views from our room and the outside seating area. Very popular with locals. Well placed for theatre and other attractions and shopping. Excellent bus service to nearby resorts eg Torquay, Paignton, Brixham.
There was nothing that we didn't like about this hotel.
The Carvery was very good. Location was great. I would recommend the nearby theatre, we saw the west end show and t was FAB!!!
No reception to speak of, more like a pub with rooms to let than an hotel, but still enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was painfully slow, but when we finally got our food it was top quality.
Staff were great, nothing too much trouble, food great. Room 3 without a view but still comfortable and clean.
Fully booked so couldn't stay another night!!!!!!
The staff were attentive and very pleasant.
Terrible night's sleep, never ever slept on such soft mattresses. Avoid room 3 if possible.
Food was excellent
Breakfast was a little late starting At 9:00am an 8:00 or 8:30 start may be more useful especially if you plan a day out traveling at that time seemed to be difficult due to local traffic
The staff were friendly and helpful.
We had to pay for an upgrade because although the hotel was empty the room allocated to Booking dot come customers was tiny with a tiny bathroom and extremely overheated . We couldn't cool it down because opening the window meant extractor noise. We knew about the extractor from the booking form but we were surprised that our booking only entitled us to the worst room in the hotel.
Great sea view. Clean comfortable room. One night stopover on business, suited me just fine.
Water pressure in the shower could be improved.
Great location and views across the bay. Outside drinkers a bit noisy in the summer, only to be expected it is a bar/restaurant with rooms. Menu needs extending a little and vegatables adding. Would use again
The view and bathroom was nice. The bed comfort was fair. The breakfast was good.
You could hear the television from the room next door. The noise was awful from the pub down stairs, as customers were extremely rowdy and uncouth. I didn't see any staff make an effort in controlling the noise levels for the residents staying. The last of the rowdiness didn't cease till 1am in the morning. The hotel needs to make a decision if it's going to be a pub for Chavs or a hotel for tourists. The reason 'Value for money' is poor, is because of the noise. I've been to many hotels and never been in a hotel with such high noise levels. There was no information in the hotel room to say there was any access to Wi-Fi. An option which I would of been interested in. unfortunately I will not be visiting the hotel or the local area again.
the location. sea view is a must. I also liked that there is a side door for to get to the rooms, and you don't have to go through the lobby/bar, especially if you have a baby
On booking.com, they said the room accomodates a baby. We were told on arrival that we should have brought our own carry cot.. They staff refused to provide extra mattress, sheets or anything. Which was strange, a hotel must have extra spares around. Luckily, the cleaning lady as around and was able to help us with extra duvet and towels which we could use for the baby. They should have enough warning about the baby facilities. They should not claim that they can accomodate babies.
Was in only room without a sea view all other rooms empty during our stay not offered the opportunity of changing.
The hotel is located in a beautiful spot overlooking the sea. The staff were very helpful and our room was lovely.
The shower is not powerful enough and the pillows were slightly hard.
location, location, location. especially if you have a room with a view. room 4 is great! the bathroom is very spacious. The pub downstairs has live music, and tables outside at the front. And the carvery looks good too. parking available for guests.
if you want to have a nap in the afternoon when they play music in the pub, it might be tricky if your room (number 4) is just above the corner where the musicians are. apart from that, really, there is nothing bad to say.
The room was comfortable with a lovely sea view the breakfast was very nice the location suburb .the.shower was a little slow but otherwise an enjoyable night.
Location was lovely. Rooms were absolutely spotless & really comfortable. Looking forward to booking again later in year!
The weather at the time!!!!!
Stayed in a lovely spacious room with a glorious view of the bay. Excellent large en suite with a powerful shower. Great food and drink in the bar downstairs. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Wonderful hotel.
Location panoramic views rooms friendlyness of the staff
modernised suits, nice bed, nice breakfast super nice ocean views
expecting more from the shower in the new refurbished bathroom, no pressure in the water tv should be bigger, as the room is bigger and the tv far away the entrance is not clear, is along the pub/carvery and is a bit messy
Nice clean place to stay and close to get to Torquay .
