This Hotel just seemed to have changed owners or underwent a complete renovation as in the rooms. Therefor the rooms looked nice and fresh. Apart from the everything outside the rooms was really improvised and understaffed to say the least. They had great breakfast but we had to catch the cook in the kitchen :) I think, if someone puts a bit more thoughts into these kind of things, it could be a nice hotel. Apart from that, clean and nice and a bit of a "abandoned" area, which was fine for me as I was there to get a good nights sleep.
I really didn't like the loud Karaoke party from directly underneath my room. I would recommend to not let people stay over the bar if there is any other free room. Stopped at around 11 though, so even that was bearable.
The staff were very friendly & helpful, we received a complimentary drink while waiting for a taxi, the room was clean & the there was a good choice for breakfast, I would stay again.
Nice friendly understanding staff
The karaoke party down in the bar that went on until 2am
breakfast Bath and really spacious bedroom easy to use TV easy to access internet loads of parking easy to find
only two power points in the room which made laptop use limited to desk area strip light in bedroom curtains not fitting window dusty wardrobe
Nice atmosphere, large hotel, meals very nice and bar reasonable. Would stay again for sure.
Staff friendly and helpful. Good food. Quite . Not a huge hotel!
Arrived at nighttime. Not presenting as a striking building or well lit to signify"hotel".
excellent breakfast young lady serving top class, downhill from there,
unhelpful when we reported no heat in room sorted one room myself, other room stayed cold eventually offered another room by bar staff. noisy bar fight kept my mother awake disabled unfriendly, no help offered with bags yet clearly struggling and manager was aware disabled people travelling
Room was good. Newly refurbished bathroom. Shower was always hot. Comfortable bed
Not the best area. I did worry about my car overnight. It didn't feel safe. The staff were never around. And when I got to my room the window was wide open so it was freezing. Wouldn't recommend to lone females
charged dearer rate than quoted online ,very very small room, climb on bed to close curtain,no chair to sit on, water leak from room above and when reported was not kept informed as to when it would be rectified,no other room offered as full to capacity????
Ordered double room, it was actually 2 singles pushed together. Large room but very cold. Wi-fi not working
We where late getting there & was aloud to eat local food in the bar Also you get a free drink when you have booked in
Friday night locals bit to much to drink but can't say about the rest of the week only stayed the one night
The people were friendly and helpful.
The hotel has seen better days and, although is being renovated, is perhaps struggling for custom.
breakfast was good, bed was comfortable.
not very clean in public areas, very noisy at night. poor neighbourhood, no car park. clean towels left outside the bedroom door on the second day, room was not serviced.
room was clean and bright with onsuite bathroom, very friendly staff, comfortable bed we had a good night sleep, nice breakfast
room was excellent. Very good breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.
Noise from bar but music turned down when ask.
Good lacation when busy in lake district. Only half an hour drive away. Good prices too. Good breakfast
Noise outside Noise inside No water on ocassions.
Breakfast was freshly prepared Food on the whole was pretty good Room eventually was a good size Not to bad a location if you want to be in Barrow The bar at the hotel was very well priced and a complimentory drink was given on arrival.
Understaffed at breakfast. Long wait following order providing you even got a table Constantly running out of staple, tea, coffee, juice First room offered you could not count as a double. Be careful when booking. Barrow is not the lakes even if this website thinks it is. Be prepared for a 30 minute drive if you wish to visit the lakes. Barrow is not a beautiful place to stay if you don't need to be there.
The hotel is nice and clean, looks to be recently refurbished. The staff and customers are really friendly.
Location is a little out of the way. The chef that was on during our stay was not the usual one which I think affected the quality of food.
Handing the key back,at our departure.
The fact that i had booked two rooms and i only got one. No milk in the room. No curtain at the bathroom window,so couldnt put the light on as the window was street facing. Cracked and broken floor tiles. Stained and dirty carpet. Loud music from bar below until well after eleven, not good as we were in a family room, trying to get young children to sleep.
Staff are extremely helpful working in difficult conditions
Location & stairs
How friendly people were and the breakfast in the morning
Just been refurbished. Nicely finished and decorated. Staff brilliant. Breakfast a treat.
Location not great. But you have easy access on the number 1 bus to get you to either the beach or down town. Parking could be a problem during the week.
Not a lot - room was ok and cooked breakfast was ok. Staff were pleasant.
Area of the Hotel, Communal areas really poor, seemingly being refurbished but a long way off, no lift to upper floors, Noisy at night.
breakfast was ok
the size of the room, you couldn't wash over the sink because glass shelf attached to the wall covered most of it,broken window stays which was reported but fell on deaf ears, window sash bigger than the opening, only one curtain which didn't fit properly, furniture in room looks like something from the 70s,overall it was total disgrace.we did cut our stay to two nights instead of three and they did refund for that one night
