room was excellent. Very good breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.
Noise from bar but music turned down when ask.
Good lacation when busy in lake district. Only half an hour drive away. Good prices too. Good breakfast
Noise outside Noise inside No water on ocassions.
Handing the key back,at our departure.
The fact that i had booked two rooms and i only got one. No milk in the room. No curtain at the bathroom window,so couldnt put the light on as the window was street facing. Cracked and broken floor tiles. Stained and dirty carpet. Loud music from bar below until well after eleven, not good as we were in a family room, trying to get young children to sleep.
Staff are extremely helpful working in difficult conditions
Location & stairs
How friendly people were and the breakfast in the morning
Just been refurbished. Nicely finished and decorated. Staff brilliant. Breakfast a treat.
Location not great. But you have easy access on the number 1 bus to get you to either the beach or down town. Parking could be a problem during the week.
Not a lot - room was ok and cooked breakfast was ok. Staff were pleasant.
Area of the Hotel, Communal areas really poor, seemingly being refurbished but a long way off, no lift to upper floors, Noisy at night.
breakfast was ok
the size of the room, you couldn't wash over the sink because glass shelf attached to the wall covered most of it,broken window stays which was reported but fell on deaf ears, window sash bigger than the opening, only one curtain which didn't fit properly, furniture in room looks like something from the 70s,overall it was total disgrace.we did cut our stay to two nights instead of three and they did refund for that one night
Neat hotel. Breakfast was very good. Small but nice rooms, good for a night's sleep.
wifi was pathetic in my room. loud music was played until late in the bar below.
Not good for family.
comfortable bed,Nice staff
Hotel reception reception area dirty and untidy
I have sent you an e-mail with my viewpoints and the hotel is a total disgrace
All staff friendly and helpful, breakfast cooked to order and cooked well. Food in the bar in the evening was good in fact all the public areas of the hotel were fine.
No safe car parking, no wifi in room, room far to small, bathroom in adequately small. Room had biscuit on the floor and curtain didn't fit the window and the window frame was broken so window wouldn't wedge open nor close properly.
The entire Hotel
Everything poor awful never go back again location awful and scruffy
The boiler was hanging off the wall there were mouldy glasses over flowing with water near electric sockets broken floor tiles used mucky pots under sink cupboards hang off nails and wires stickin out of walls I would not go again and defiantly not recommended it to no 1 I would let a dog stay there never mind humans we refuused to stay and left after 10 minutes
Beds were comfortable.
A disappointing stay. We had 2 rooms. The toilet in both rooms were dirty on arrival and one room was unclean. The pub downstairs was very noisy with a Karaoke going until past midnight right underneath the room. Neither Sky nor WiFi worked.
The breakfast was good and the two young guys at the desk/bar were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is located in a run down surburban area, when we arrived there were children sitting on the steps of the hotel smoking, our room was not clean, the carpet had not been vaccummed and the toilet bowl was dirty. It had clearly not been cleaned after the last guests.
Where do I start. Room sewage smell coming from the shower tv didn't work no wifi as stayed. Moved to a new room when arrived back to new room lock changed as they needed a room for a pair bag put in unlocked room no bedding on the bed still no wifi moved to a third room ok but still no wifi when booking out no receipt as computer not working I have travelled and stayed in many hotels and can say by far the worst ever no apology not even an offer of a refund
Lack of WIFI - Staff not able to provide log-on code. No breakfast despite of agreement No possibility for early checkout despite of agreement Very Worn apartment Doors not closing properly Lights not working Window not able to close
The staff were very helpful. Even though my booking went missing, they found me another room and gave me a discount.
There was no hot water. The hotel is described as having undergone refurbishment, but there was obviously still a way to go (or that might have just been the room they squeezed me in to at short notice). My room had damp patches, missing shower panels and flaking paint.
The helpfulness of reception when we found we could not stay there - we had specified wheelchair access with Booking.com but that is impossible at The Royal! They spent an hour trying to find and booking alternative accommodation.
Booking.com were in error by not letting us know that this hotel is not wheelchair friendly, many stairs, no lifts.
Shower was broken and the colleague who said he would help investigate it, didnt bother to do so. We then realised that our window was sealed shut and had no ventilation. We waited 2 hours to be given a new room the day after and the bedsheets were still dirty from the previous people- full of stains, smelt of sweat and dirt. Again, our window had no latch to keep it open so we had to resort to using a tray to keep it ajar. Breakfast took an hour and a half to arrive.
