I've spent only one night. Actually I did arrive very late in the evening and left early in the morning. The restaurant was closed when I arrived but the manager proposed to prepare a sandwich for me, which I did accept and appreciated his kind attention. Very nice guy ! Parking... not easy to find a find a space.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and good restaurants, especially the Italian. If you eat in, you WILL put on weight! Comfortable side room with reasonable view. Very clean, despite the obvious age of the building, which adds to the "antique charm". Enjoyed my few days break and would happily return. Almost impossible to get a space in the car-park, which was OK in May but must be a nightmare during high season! Could have done with some more shelf space in the bathroom.

We enjoyed every aspect of the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food excellent in both restaurant and bar and the rooms were comfortable and serviced each day. We have already booked another holiday at the Beacon Hotel in September. Could not find any faults.

Interesting old building. Convenient location. Very friendly reception. Poor parking. Some food combinations rather strange. Waiting staff not always good at understanding English (but very friendly attitude).

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was spotlessly clean. A very good choice of restaurants for evening meals. In a wonderful position overlooking the sea. Parking was difficult at times there only being enough space for about 6 cars in the Hotels car park.

The location was excellent, we had 2 rooms both were well decorated to a high standard. The single was in fact a twin, so lots of room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast that was included in the tariff. We had 2 rooms a double and a single, a previous guest had been smoking in the room, not the hotels fault, but the double room smelt of stale smoke. We had 2 rooms and the double bedded room needed a new bed it was very uncomfortable. Double room only had a small wet room bathroom, a bit cramped. Tried to charge us the walk in room rate not the 'Booking.com rate' so take confirmation with you as proof. Car parking may be difficult at busy times of the year. Lots of stairs, there is a small lift.

Position just above the seafront Good hot water and a large bath. Excellent Italian restaurant downstairs. When we arrived the bedroom was very cold - the window had been left open and the central heating hadn't yet come on. It would have been nice if apologies and a complimentary cup of tea in the loungs had been offered, as opposed to excuses and the suggestiuon we buy a cup of tea. A bad start to an indulgent break - The room did warm up and the rest of our stay wasasant, but we nearly left before finding this out! To decribe the room as 'overlooking the courtyard' is a dressed up way of saying; the hotel car park.

bar area very nice, staff very accomodating, our room was nice, breakfast was very good. our first room was room 202 with a connecting door. unfortunately we asked to be moved from this room as we could hear every word spoken by the guest next door, and even when he flushed the toilet!!! The room given to us was 107 which was a much quieter one.

Warm and comfortable lounge and bar to relax in We have stayed here on at least four other occasions. We were disappointed with Donatos on this visit, so after first night dined elsewhere. Food did not seem to have been prepared by an italian chef. Waiter service however was good
