Score from 36 reviews Very good
The noise from the pubs around. The tap being on a timer so not even being able to clean teeth without pressing five times Banging my head on the wall every time I turned as room so small Bathroom tiny and soap and shampoo dispensers like a public loo Outdated decor Light by bed did not work Overall impression very poor
The location was excellent and the room was beautiful
staff fantastic Great Location Good food pool table outdoor sitting area
Location was good
room was very small and not what was shown on the web. If I could have had my money back I would.
Clean a comfortable room, good view, nice hot shower. Interesting history.
May not suit everyone as it is in the center of a busy harbour area, and above a popular pub, this is an old inn.
the locatione very close to all the ameniates thebus service was excellent to everywhere
Location and the people
Only one minor thing was not enough wardrobe space for a double room
Location & view from room window
Level of bathroom, shower not clean on the inside.
Hearty and timely breakfast
Tiniest room of our trip. Mattress had broken springs/needed replacing. Neither bed side lamp worked. Nice view of the road (I'm sure when I booked it I was offered a view of the docks).
Superb location, ideal for long weekends and couples. Friendly staff. Cleaners did a good job considering very dated rooms. Bathroom was good.
Noise! We were aware it is a working harbour and fully expected some noise however it's surrounded by other pubs so the language was rather choice until the early hours, also it seemed everyone chose to smoke under our windows. We had two young children so not ideal, both got quite intimidated by the screaming & shouting at times. The checking in & out was quite disorganised too and was hard to find a member of staff when needed. Room facilities were very dated, TV's weren't secured properly and only worked intermittently. At the end of the day it's an old Inn, not a swanky hotel but it could do with double (treble!) glazing on all floors not just the top floor, upgraded facilities in rooms and a general spruce up.
A bit noisy outside
The location and view were excellent
Bit impersonal we had an issue but received no apology
Parking in Ilfracombe can be very expensive
The noise was unbearable, from below, above, & out side. We paid for two nights but only stayed for one.
Location patio bar views
Small room no mirrors Bathroom shelf
Excellent location for the harbour. Good choice of eateries along the harbour. Close to main town. Friendly staff. Good pub food. Good cooked breakfast. Comfortable room.
Expensive car parking during the day. Scruffy staff, they really need a simple uniform. Lack of choice of cereals for young children.
The location was excellent. Being very close to the quayside, it was extremely convenient for all the amenities that Ilfracombe had to offer. There was a public car park in close proximity, although it was not that cheap to leave our car there for the duration.
The reception was untidy and the chairs were very dusty. The staircase leading to our room had not been vacuumed or dusted for some time. Our room was not clean enough! We found disposable contact lenses and makeup stains from previous guests on the bedside cabinet. There were beer stains on the table. Although the linen was fresh, there were hairs (head and pubic) on our sheets from previous guests. The bunk bed was too small for our son and he found it very difficult to sleep as a result. The bathroom had a thick layer of dust on more than one surface and the rear of the toilet seat had not been cleaned! There was a single towel rail (for a room with potentially five guests). It was not acceptable. We were booked in for three nights; we left after one night and our break was ruined as a result!
Family rooms were great, clean and cosy. We had a fantastic bank holiday weekend!
The room was not very clean. Terrible decoration. The pub/hotel was very dirty. The food was basic pub food. The restaurant was dirty. The table we ate in the night before was not cleaned by the next morning when we came to have breakfast. The staff were not properly dressed, you could not tell who was staff and who was costumer. I will never go back here again and certainly will not recommend it to anyone.
The harbourside view the room and furnishings The character of the hotel plenty of cafes, restaurants in town seaside walks and beaches.
it was hard to find staff! Parking charges and facilities in town
Good location, friendly staff. Whilst only a basic room, it was clean and had tea/coffee making facilities, which was good.
excellent location, parking not too far,
needs a lot of updating and modernising,tv didnt work,
Location and views!
Hotel interior needs updating and tidying up,bed linen needs to match and be of a better quality, the breakfast room also needs a re-think!not very welcoming!

Hard to find staff in the bar in the afternoon. Breakfast required to be ordered from a hatch but but had to wait for staff. Our table in the bar was sticky. Bar staff said they couldn't get it clean - so ditch it and get a new table!!
