In a conservation area of Ilfracombe, the 4-star Woodlands features rooms with free Wi-Fi. Close to the coastal path, Woodlands is within easy reach of the award-winning Tunnels Beach.
Score from 109 reviews Wonderful
The Sherborne Lodge is situated in Ilfracombe, a pretty seaside resort on the North Devon coast, with rugged green cliffs and an Iron Age fort standing 115 metres above sea level.
Score from 67 reviews Good
Quietly situated in the town centre of Ilfracombe, the Torrs Hotel offers a bar, free WiFi, and free onsite parking. This charming family-run property is just 13 minutes’ walk from the seafront.
Score from 30 reviews Very good
the locatione very close to all the ameniates thebus service was excellent to everywhere
Location and the people
Only one minor thing was not enough wardrobe space for a double room
Location & view from room window
Level of bathroom, shower not clean on the inside.
Hearty and timely breakfast
Tiniest room of our trip. Mattress had broken springs/needed replacing. Neither bed side lamp worked. Nice view of the road (I'm sure when I booked it I was offered a view of the docks).
Superb location, ideal for long weekends and couples. Friendly staff. Cleaners did a good job considering very dated rooms. Bathroom was good.
Noise! We were aware it is a working harbour and fully expected some noise however it's surrounded by other pubs so the language was rather choice until the early hours, also it seemed everyone chose to smoke under our windows. We had two young children so not ideal, both got quite intimidated by the screaming & shouting at times. The checking in & out was quite disorganised too and was hard to find a member of staff when needed. Room facilities were very dated, TV's weren't secured properly and only worked intermittently. At the end of the day it's an old Inn, not a swanky hotel but it could do with double (treble!) glazing on all floors not just the top floor, upgraded facilities in rooms and a general spruce up.
A bit noisy outside
The location and view were excellent
Bit impersonal we had an issue but received no apology
Parking in Ilfracombe can be very expensive
The noise was unbearable, from below, above, & out side. We paid for two nights but only stayed for one.
Location patio bar views
Small room no mirrors Bathroom shelf
Excellent location for the harbour. Good choice of eateries along the harbour. Close to main town. Friendly staff. Good pub food. Good cooked breakfast. Comfortable room.
Expensive car parking during the day. Scruffy staff, they really need a simple uniform. Lack of choice of cereals for young children.
Family rooms were great, clean and cosy. We had a fantastic bank holiday weekend!
The room was not very clean. Terrible decoration. The pub/hotel was very dirty. The food was basic pub food. The restaurant was dirty. The table we ate in the night before was not cleaned by the next morning when we came to have breakfast. The staff were not properly dressed, you could not tell who was staff and who was costumer. I will never go back here again and certainly will not recommend it to anyone.
Good location, friendly staff. Whilst only a basic room, it was clean and had tea/coffee making facilities, which was good.
excellent location, parking not too far,
needs a lot of updating and modernising,tv didnt work,
Location and views!
Hotel interior needs updating and tidying up,bed linen needs to match and be of a better quality, the breakfast room also needs a re-think!not very welcoming!
View, location, cost
Hard to find staff in the bar in the afternoon. Breakfast required to be ordered from a hatch but but had to wait for staff. Our table in the bar was sticky. Bar staff said they couldn't get it clean - so ditch it and get a new table!!
lovely hotel friendly staff great location
Good location for walking around Ilfracombe seaside and quay attractions.
Noise outside hotel windows late at night. Rubbish outside in beer garden area.
Fantastically clean linen and lovely towels. Surprisingly quiet despite being in the midst of restaurants and pubs location.
No TV signal and no WiFi which was disappointing as advertised. Cereal was cornflakes or cornflakes, no fruit or yoghurt and cooked breakfast was basic and not worth £7 each, which they tried to charge is for again.
The Bed frame was a beautifully carved wooden affair
The attitude of the staff and the hazard of water dripping from light fittings and the staff response to this
We initially only booked a small room but when booking in we were immediately offered a larger room at no extra cost which we found very comfortable and good value.
Bar and eating area very basic.
Room was clean Warm Good window to let fresh air in Good amount of space for clothes
Food was bad! Toilet flush wasn't great
Sea & Harbour Views From Room Good location for shops Plenty of places to dine out.
Not Much Choice for Breakfast Clean Towel Service ( Rubbish) Not Having close Parking
Nice location Good breakfast
Only had internet in the bar area. Everything a bit dated Don't go here if you are a light sleeper - seaguls will get you up early
