One of the best hotel in edinburgh for good position and price. Staff is great and always tries to put you at ease. I want to come back here in a future!!
Probably one of the better rooms
dated communal areas and rooms
We loved our stay - I was prepared for budget accommodation and conditions. We had a delightful stay, staff were great and the location is brilliant!! Wifi was excellent too! We stayed in an old room but it was clean and comfortable!!
Check in floor smelled a bit - but don't let that put you off
Location is perfect opposite train station and night life. Food was ok in restaurant
Room I got put In was horrible and no alternative when asked literally shower head was broken extremely old and run down room my view was a metal stairwell and a brick wall! Also no parking.
Everything about the hotel was fantastic. We were lucky to get a refurbished room but everything about the hotel was brilliant. Great food, drink and facilities. The drencher shower is a fantastic touch.
Everything was excellent : friendly staff, room cleanliness
The bar was excellent and very sociable
the beds were really comfy. The bathroom was awesome
The location of the hotel is perfect. Most facilities are great, too! Good value for money.
The room was a little bit small.
it's location is perfect. just face to the railway station, a few minutes walk to all fantastic sight-seeing resorts
Location and helpful staff
Scruffy decoration of hotel, cosmetic decoration noted but poor in executions. Bar and restaurant were to a good finish but bedrooms were tatty. Bathrooms in poor condition cracked mortar joints and tiles weak shower
the location of the hotel is excellent. The parts that have been refurbished are very attractive. The breakfast was good.
The upper floors are looking very ' tired'.
Close to train station, shopping and attractions.
good location. Reception and bar nicely done up.
Rooms clean but need upgrading also corridors. The lift especially needs attention as it smells!
Location Size of room tea station Bed and Pillows location of Bar and restuarant
Noise Night lock out
I liked the location, the breakfast room with the stunning view of Edinburgh in all its glory and the staff were really helpful
I didn't like the bedroom because it smelled of cigarette smoke. It overlooked a flat roof which was covered in cigarette ends and even after the room was sprayed with freshener by the staff the curtains were tainted by smoke which was really quite sickening to a non smoker
I travel with a 9 month baby. The hotel has put a cot in my room when I ａｒｒｉｖｅ．ｔｈｅ ｒｏｏｍ ｈａｓ ｐｌｅｎｔｙ ｓｐａｃｅ． Ｓｏ ｍｙ ｌｉｔｔｌｅ ｏｎｅ ｃａｎ ｃｒａｗｌ ｉｎ ｔｈｅ ｒｏｏｍ．

Made to feel very welcome and the staff were very courteous.
The high step to the en-suite.
Accessability of the area to everything. Beautiful situation of the hotel
Breakfast was good. Entrance and other amenities were fine. Bed was comfortable
Was put into a room on 4th floor when lifts only went to 3rd. Carting cases up and down extra floor was a a pain and one got the impression we were going up to servant's level. Room was dark but comfortable WIFI was poor throughout the hotel
Our room was located on the third floor and was basic, corridor was in need of a good makeover. locker
View of the castle and Scott monument from the room. Very good value.
Corridor to the room is a bit of a rabbit warren however fire exits are nearby and well signposted
Other than my gripes below all was ok. Did not use restaurant so unable to comment on food. Good value for money as comfortable and convenient lcation
Room was noisy from traffic on road outside as window would not shut properly. Kettle did not work in room
Coming out of the hotel and straight onto Princes Street. The three single beds which were really comfy and the tea, coffee and hot chocolate with biscuits provided I our room
Early morning noise from workmen outside the hotel
Good location on Princes Street. Right beside train station and airlink bus terminus. Ten minutes walk from old town.Good value breakfast in first floor dining room with view of street and castle
Very small single room. Room 311. Had the basics so ok if you do not have to spend any time there. Shower a little temperamental. No soap rack in shower.
