LOCATION & PRICE
FIRST ROOM TV DID NOT WORK FOOTIE ON REPLACEMENT ROOM KETTLE DID NOT WORK
Only the proximity to Crewe Station, but heavily overpriced.
Overpriced, The place was dirty, noisy and old fashioned. We did not risk having breakfast, we left without having it. For £70 for the night, it was a con, It should have been half of that. We shall try another company besides Booking.com in the future, and make sure we read reviews.
Staff brilliant and great breakfast was outstanding. Can't fault it great for a night out or short stop off
No menu for meals apart from breakfast.
The hotel is very close to the Railway Station is great for non-drivers like myself. It is an old style hotel but has all the modern facilities that are required. the rooms are clean with adequate space. Breakfast is very good.
The shower in my room was difficult to adjust to the right temperature. When i arrived they did not have details of my reservation which the chap on reception said sometimes happens with Booking.com and they had run out of single rooms. However he gave me a double room at the same price.
the breakfast was disgusting the beds felt like wood
basic good value .clean & adequate
stairs were a bit much to 2nd floor as i am in my 70s with cronic arithritis. breakfast a bit late as i'm an early riser
This hotel needs lots of money spending on it bed was absolutely worn out the noise from the road was unbearable .i stayed top flor no lift .avoid this hotel it' would be more comparable staying in your car
Room was clean, decent size with TV, kettle etc all in place. Breakfast was a reasonable full English - crispy bacon, sausage, tomato, beans, black pudding, mushrooms, toast - although service could have been better e.g. we weren't offered a coffee or tea.
Welcomed with "you book on internet, I don't have it". No attempt to look up booking on computer. Then proceeded to try and charge us £5 more than the booking.com price - claiming "that's because prices haven't been updated on there". When I told him that's not my problem he did process payment at right price but didn't speak another word. Key was dumped in front of us without speaking - no directions to room, info about breakfast, check out times etc.... not a word.
Proximity to the train station, spotlessly clean room, tea & coffee making. Staff stayed on to let me into the room late at night.
Traffic outside can be quite loud if you're a light sleeper.
Nice room and bed, good shower , nice breakfast
Bit noisy due to music on Friday night but not intrusive enough to stop me sleeping well and I had been advised about the music
Location and good breakfast
The window frames in the room were in need of refurbishment and the carpet needed replacing (very grubby) but the bed was very comfy. With a bit of painting and updating the room would have been perfect.
Beside the venue
The room gave decent comfort and facilities for a one night stay, without being particularly smart.
Room was at the top and had a view onto roofs and an overflowing drainpipe.
Only stayed one night following a family wedding nearby and am unlikely to stay in area again however I found the hotel clean, and was made very welcome and the food was good
Not getting a Breakfast at 7.15 as requested
Great location - directly opposite the railway station. Good, basic, no frills accomodtion.
Although it didn't affect me during my stay, it's worth noting that this is a popular venue for hen parties, stag dos and discos so can get noisy at night. Ask for a room at the back where it's quieter.
Staff were very helpful
Smelly, and noisy room
I could check in at a later time than normal. The quiet room was quiet and breakfast was very good.
The taps in the ensuite needed to be looked at. Had to keep turning for them to stop dripping. Can be easily rectified by a plumber I guess.
This bed and breakfast hotel is part of a public house, but with separate access to the reception area and rooms. The room itself was basic but clean, tidy and met my requirements. Adequately supplied with tea & coffee making facilities and SKY TV. The shower room was en-suite, with the wash basin and towels situated in the bedroom itself. Over all for the cost of the room, breakfast included, this bed and breakfast hotel offers a satisfactory no frills, value for money option compared to some pricier alternatives nearby.
The bed frame was a bit loose, but did not affect the comfort of the mattress. I slept like a log.
Convenient. Good car park. Good sized room
Couldn't get the TV to work!
For us it was a good location and warm, although most will probably find it over warm.
There is no restaurant even though it is advertised. Very very basic accomodation with none of the facilities you'd expect. Basically it's a lot of rooms above a pub and that's your lot.
Hot water took half an hour before shower was warm. Club attached to hotel (noisy), no sound on Tv.
(Booked in husband's name but review submitted by wife!) Staff very welcoming and friendly, despite being busy running the bar as well as covering Reception. Ideal location for railways station, booked this hotel as we had a very early train the next day. Asked for a quiet room and got one at the back of the hotel, never heard any noise all night. Room was spacious and linen fresh. Plenty of soft clean towels provided but nowhere to hang them! In the morning the breakfast staff kindly let us in and served us a few minutes before the official 7.00 start when we explained about our 7.32 train. Wish we'd had more time for a proper breakfast as the eggs on toast we ordered for quickness were lovely, as was the fresh orange juice and pots of tea. Hotel was quite a walk from the town centre, but you can't have proximity to that as well as the station so you take your pick.
Layout in room was 'quirky', i.e. toilet and shower up two steps behind a sliding door, and washbasin was in the room, but they all worked and it was quite charming in its way. Maybe not suitable for a couple wanting a romantic setting though! No wardrobe, just a couple of hooks on the back of the door, but adequate for a one night stay. One thing that we noticed was the huge radiator on our corridor was on constantly, chucking out far too much heat for quite a mild day. Thank goodness the one in our room wasn't on or it would have been unbearably hot. As usual with hotel rooms the window could not be opened more than a few inches, but not blaming the hotel for that as I believe it is the law!
