Wifi was useless. Better value can be had with local b&b's which include breakfast. Batteries in remotes didn't work in all three rooms - perhaps this needs adding to the cleaners checklist.
Spacious warm and clean apartment with good quality furnishings. Stayed one night with two dogs in tow - excellent location for dog walking as opposite the beach and a garden area. Kitchen facilities appeared adequate but we only made hot drinks preferring to eat out. The location of this property more than made up for any shortcomings. A lift was being installed the day we stayed so any previous negatives about stairs will be irrelevant now. Requested an apartment without outside metal steps and this was taken into consideration - Thank you!
Having stayed in Discovery accommodation previously I thought the bathroom and bedroom at this apartment was small in comparison. Also the kitchen and lounge are open plan (not a problem to us as we eat out) whereas the last apartment had a separate lounge and kitchen which was better for the dogs as we could shut them away!
Location perfect with best views. Nicely furnished and decorated. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast. Friendly staff.
The carpet in our apartment was wet through near the windows, not sure why, but was smelly!
Location, rooms tidy.
They said they text entry codes a few times but was only receiving welcoming text. Had to get them to tell me codes which I wrote down. DVD player in room but no scart cable. Wifi wasn't up to standard. Could get and receive email but couldn't use internet for Google Facebook etc.
Security and cleanliness of the apartment was very good, and the location was fine. All in all a good apartment
The view from the apartment at the rear could be attended to by tidying up of debris and rubbish visible in the back yard, the windows could have been cleaner.
Large spacious 2 bedroom apartment with good facilities and if you stood up to look out of the windows great views
No mirror in bathroom for shaving/washing etc. The fact that you had to stand up to enjoy the view . The 80 steps/stairs to get to the apartment (no lift)
Location. Restaurants and town good. Fish and chips at the Quayside restaurant a must for all visitors. Quiet at night.
Poor finish in room. Finials missing from curtain pole. Electric extension leads with appliances plugged in. No fire escape signs or notices. Bedding substandard with no protectors on mattress or pillows. Toilet not secured to wall. Parking an issue although cheap.
location and a well appointed apartment
a very minor point , the bathroom door handle was broken and in need of repair
Good location.self catering apartment meant freedom to come and go.
Not knowing beforehand we were on top floor and no lift,we are a fairly fit mature couple but some would find it difficult.
In many respects I had no problem with the apartment, its location etc, but see opposite
The evening after I returned home I received a one line email telling me that I was being charged £150.00 for damage done to the sofa in the apartment we stayed in. No phone call, no explanation of the damage or indeed whether they were claiming that we had caused it, just that they were talking, quite legally, the money out of my account. After two telephone calls they accepted that they had made a mistake and returned the money but the distress of reading that first email defines the short time we spent at Whitby, although in other respects it was an enjoyable break. I leave people to reach their own conclusions
It overall was a very clean and comfor table place fairly close to the town
shame you cant transfer the view at the front to the back
Excellent freshly decorated large apartment with stunning views out to sea. Friendly staff with excellent breakfast to get us set up for the day. Magnificent area with so much to see but we didn't have enough time in four days...
Breakfast would have been better if earlier than 8am. Directions to the parking facility to our apartment were terrible... took us ages to find it ...
This apartment was very suitable for my elderly mother who has limited mobility. It made our stay so easy. It was spacious and well equipped with a very accessible walk in shower. Although a basement apartment there was plenty of light, and the rooms were quiet and remained cool despite the heat from the sun. We enjoyed watching the swallows nesting in the porch. The ramp to the pavement, the open views of the gardens in the crescent and the closeness to the sea and centre of Whitby were all additional bonuses. A fantastic place for a holiday.
Every thing the views sunsets
the views, location, the size of the flat and the equipment provided. The breakfast was good value for £6 and well worth doing although it was a little walk.
There seem to be no signs of fire exit, or details of what to do if a fire started. We were unable to enter the building from the rear doors where the cars are parked that would be easier to bring cases into the building. Wase bin in bathroom and bedroom had not been emptied from previous letting
suite was very clean comfortable bed, tv good
top floor reception 200 yards away having to pay £6.00 to park Had to ring reception several times to find out where to park, No instructions given. Map given at reception, should have directions at the place where you stay. If bad weather would have been a nightmare. Having to go 200 yards for a breakfast. However, suite was very clean but would not book again due to the reception being 200 yards away and having to go for breakfast there. Did'nt think I should have to pay £6.00 to park behind the hotel and carry bags 100 yards then go to top floor. Parking should have been available outside the hotel and have a pass for the guests.
great location, beautiful view flat very modern tastefully decorated and very clean. Really impressed, would fully recommend to friends and family and will be booking again some time in future
booking. com gave us post code for address which was ok until we arrived there only to realise that we needed to be at discovery accommodation first to book in. site needs to be telling customers this when they book to stay at discovery royal,
Flat modern clean conveinient, for our requirements
We were not informed the flat No7 was 60 steps up, no lift.hard work, wont have again.
Stunning apartment. Views across the sea from the lounge (not from a seating position). Views of the Abbey and sea from the bathroom. Very well equipped, comfortable, clean, quiet, spacious and much, much more!! We all felt we could have lived there. Lots of stairs, as we were on the top floor, but not a negative. Would we go there again - 100% YES!! Anyone staying here will not be disappointed. A real 'find'!
