Good location, nice restaurants around the hotel, nice staff, the room was cleaned each day even during a weekend, we had a room for 4 people in the underground but was ok for us, it was clean
we could not open or close the windows properly, otherwise we were happy with everything
the royal eagle hotel was within walking distance of Paddington station and close to bars and restaurants. Hyde Park was also a short walk away.
the royal eagle hotel advertised a bar serving drinks and light snacks this was not the case not once during our stay was there any bar service
We especially enjoyed the friendliness of the welcome.
We had to change rooms. The heat was stifling in the first room located in the basement and we could not open the windows. It was the first time that we paid before to take the breakfast... each day.
The location is excellent, however, the room size and the television in the room is below my expectations.
As stated above.
Good value convenience for the city and west end close to Hyde Park
check out earlier than most hotels i.e. 12 pm
Smaller but clean and tidy rooms. Very kind and helpfull staff. Good location. Great value for the money.
Internet was free for 30 minutes then you had to pay.
Location close to station with lots of restaurant options close by. Close to Hyde Park
Very small, airless, colourless and poky basement room. Opened onto courtyard where staff have smoking space so the only air we could get was smoke-ridden. The window did not open. A single room disguised as a double. Two coathangers for two people? Very small bed - kept waking up with my feet hanging over the end- I am 5'4" tall. The barman couldn't be bothered taking his eyes off the television to serve us a drink. Very poor choice of wine in the bar. The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.
Shower cubicle was probably 2.5 ft x 2.5 ft how do they expect anyone tall and medium built to have a bath I do not understand. Single room size is too small
The size of the bedrooms. This rooms are made to liliputian people! After the bed there are no space for nothing! Must be forbiden to do Hotels with rooms of this size...The bathroom is of size of a airplane toilet!...It's unbelievable had to pay the breakfast, before you eat,in the same Hotel, where you have a room, already pay, before you made the check out,4 days ago!
Rooms Staff Vaule for money
Noise from roads
Helpful staff and clean rooms, bathrooms and dining room. Premier continental breakfast was all done with fresh bread and pastries - as much as you could eat - set us up all day till late afternoon.
No a/c in rooms combined with traffic noise from below meant you couldn't sleep with the window open. Very warm at night in the room if you are used to a cold climate and you visit in summer.
Noisy drinkers till early morning
The room was adequate, just, for a single bed. However as a double the only way to reach the other side of the room was by climbing over the bed. No small feat for some of us!!!
Should have been free WiFi. And also cleaner.
Location and distance to train station
No wifi connection. cramped room for twin share poor shower
location is very good and the staff are good
we have a room in lower ground when the alivater had very load noice and it was very small room
Staff not professional at all!! Could not use the Safe and all they did was ask me to collect the key at the Reception and unlock the safe by myself!! No service at all. Room is very tiny with a springy bed! Toilet is right by the side of the main door and the shower is miniscule. Definitely will not go back to this hotel! Overpriced for what it is!! Can find better in Paddington area.
+ Good location, as long as you are flying to/from Heathrow.
- With the price that it is charged per room, charging extra for internet access is just ridiculous. - No tea-making facilities. - Extremely basic room, not even a table.
1. Location is fantastic. 2 mins walk to Paddington Station 2. Front office staff were very polite & co-operative
1. The family room was very tight. Hardly any room to place suitcases 2. Rooms were not properly cleaned. Sheets not changed regularly 3. Hotel did not serve other meals apart from breakfast
Everything else. My wife and I booked a room with double bed for 3 nights a couple of months in advance and upon arrival they said they are out of double rooms and put us in a room with 3 single beds. Funny enough one lady in reception thought it's an "upgrade". Not even close to that she should've kept quit without adding to the insult. Those single beds are really short too. My repetitive requests to move to a double bed room was unsuccessful either. In addition, the rooms are very small and bath feels like you are in a straight jacket if you are about 6ft tall:). Staff is all talks and pretending to be very good at customer service, unfortunately it stops there. So we had three terrible nights in London after a 24 hour flight to get there from Sydney. I have nothing to say good about them and will never go there again.
The first night they gave us a room down under the ground where was impossible to sleep because of the elevator noise. In addition to that there was no day light in, no windows and it was not even clean. Everytime elevator goes up and down there was a terribble noise. They could only manage to change the room the other day. We were total sleepless in the first night and it caused a big fight with my girl friend.
Location to Paddington Station
Maids only surface clean Sink in bathroom wouldn't drain properly Shower head was the wrong size and soaked the bathroom in water
staff , location, price.
