Noisy coaches in the car park at the rear early morning Parking can be difficult
My husband and I were travelling across south coast and we were staying each night in different town. This was one of the best hotels, very clean, perfect location and nice staff.
Excellent from start to finish. This was my first time staying here, but several guests informed me that they come back every year. The hotel is spotless and to have constant hot water in the shower was great. Liked the idea of encouraging people to be Eco friendly, but it wasn't thrust upon anyone. I would certainly go back.
Parking can be a bit pot luck - but I managed to park right outside on a busy Sunday afternoon.
Everything was really good and we were given a nice welcome. The room and facilities were excellent and we certainly intend to stay there again .
Being on my own I waa nervous but they were great
Very friendly and helpful host and lovely room. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with tasteful furniture and nice touches. Breakfast was lovely with added delights of home made bread, fresh strawberries and excellent coffee. Very highly recommended.
The place was clean and well located
It was the worst hotel stay in my life (and I do travel a lot). The place is ORTHODOX VEGETARIAN - they don't tolerate any meat or even eggs on their premises. The website did not mention it. I had to bring in a Tesco sandwich with ham and a cottage cheese for my wife who is recovering from iron deficiency and the owner wanted to expel us for the 'contamination' of the place, he threatened me with the police even. The windows are not well insulated - there is a constant traffic noise from the busy road right in front of the hotel, even after midnight with the windows closed (there is no airco). The 'Free WiFi' is free only for checking emails or sending short messages. For any other use, ie. downloading photos there is a daily charge of £10. Not mentioned on the website again... I would expext 4* hotel to offer hypoallergic bedding on request - the hotel was not able to do so. In my personal opinion it is maximum 2*. I do not recommend the place unless you are an orthodox vegetarian yourself and it might be fair to the other guests to share that information on the hotel website.
Location of hotel.owner very helpfull.Decor and cleanlines first class.Would recommend to any one.
This really is a dog friendly hotel and we were put completely at ease. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Room was tiny. There was no indication that the (single option) breakfast was European (and a poor one at that). They didn't tell us about the rate reduction, so we paid the full amount.
The hotel were located very convinient with a sea view. We were recieved in a very friendly and polite way.
noisy -could hear other guests, creeking boards and bathrooms !
one of the best hotels I've stayed in
friendly owners who were very welcoming to our dog
the staff the room the hotel
Lovely little hotel, super room right on the seafront and extra little side bit with table and chairs by a bay window watching the world go by. Really easy to find and lots restaurants within easy walking distance. the owners are really friendly and helpful. Would definately stay there again.
The hotel has no parking so you need to find street parking but you do get a special ticket for a £1 for 24 hours, can be a bit time consuming especially on a bank holiday weekend.
dog friendly, water bowl waiting upon arrival.
What a great find !! The hotel was great ! Spotlessly clean and comfy Staff (Eddie) was an absolute gem. I shall certainly be using the Royal next time I in Eastbourne on business.
An excellent cozy hotel in a great location. The hosts - including the friendly canin - are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again.
