Having to come home

Eddie the owner couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was superb, excellent ingredients, home made bread. Room was well-appointed. I couldn't have asked for more.

The Royal Hotel is situated on the Marine Parade, on the seashore and offers wonderful views of the long sandy beach and the Pier of Eastbourne. My mother and I stayed in the twin room with the seaview on the first floor, which had a small bay area to sit and enjoy a cuppa whilst watching the sea. The room was newly decorated, with quirky leopard print bedside tables, which addead character to the otherwise traditional decor. all facilities are environment friendly, guests are supplied with good quality toiletries, teas and coffees. The hotel manager Eddie is a lovely chap, who goes out of his way to help and please customers. We also fell in love with his assistant Alfie, a super friendly pup. We haven't had breakfast while we were there as I had to rush to early oclock meetings but the smell of freshly ground coffee that permeated the lobby was very tempting. Overall it was a true gem, so rare to find such an immaculate, personal, and friendly space for the price. We would stay there again un a heart beat and would not hesitate to give it the highest recommendation possible.

The sea view room really was a sea view, room was smallish but comfortable with a nice sitting area by the window. Friendly owners and the hotel is dog friendly too. If you're not a dog person don't let that put you off, the whole place is beautifully clean, highly recommended.

A very small room; it is not a hotel just an up market B & B. The twin room had beds opposite sides of room so it felt like being in a caravan. The shower room was a closet and water was only warm. The price was expensive and not value for money.

The location is terrific just cross the road the beach and pier are in front of the hotel. Easy walking distance to the shopping centre, bus stop across the road to go into Brighton for the day about one hour ride through the countryside. The owners are very nice, and made us very welcome. Would stay again.
