Nothing I dont normally moan about a hotel but man alive.... Arrived at 1130 into a hotel that smelt of rancid cigar smoke, walked to my room up a set of dirty stairs. Once in my room which I doubt has been updated since the 70's the room was clean but gain smelt of rancid smoke. Breakfast was horrendous with cardboard sausages and bacon doused in lard. Spend some of the money you are ripping people off with and do up your hotel. I wont be back

I enjoyed leaving this hotel. Reception staff were hostile, i am not used to being spoken to rudely by hotel staff. Parking is located in an alley at the back, not secured and has only 6 spaces, 3 behind 3. So you will need to move your car to let other guests access theirs. LOCATION : located next to a strip bar, a billiards hall and a nightclub, a very threatening environment at night. Breakfast was dreadfull, food of a very low quality although it was at breakfast that i met 2 lovely staff members. This hotel is very old and poorly maintained, the lift work sometimes otherwise expect stairs. This hotel was not cheap nor cheerful, a horrific night.

Cannot fault location and friendliness of hotel staff. It was a very tired hotel in need of urgent renovation, however that does not excuse the dirty carpets throughout the hotel which were filthy especially the reception, stairs and corrodors.

The staff was great. Very accommodating group, very friendly. They knew the area well enough and were informative. It's not a brilliant building. A bit drafty, which for me, that far north and in Winter, is a bit uncomfortable. The water wasn't very hot and although the bath itself was very nice, the fixtures were new and barely holding together. There were two chairs in the room and one dismantled slowly over the course of the first day. The flat-pack mdf funiture was on its last legs (the older stuff was nice and sturdy) I had trouble with the internet payment stuff, but the staff was more than anxious to fix the problem.

Central, convenient, reasonably comfortable, value for money in a city of expensive hotels. Hotel is a bit antiquated, lift is a bit small and slow, decor a bit tired, ok for short stay

Its good that it's right in the center of town. Nice and quiet. I like that there is a bathtub in the room(s). And elevator too. Tv was nice, hairdryer a +.window actually opened.so thats good. Will stay again bcos of room prices and location Internet acess should be free, phonecalls should be cheaper. Dirty walls and ceilings. Mouldy smell. Uncomfy bed, no proper bed quilt. Just a worn out ragged old thing. Smelly too. Wallpaper falling off ceiling.needs improvements.' New wallpapers, a paint job, new bathroom tiles, new doors, proper bed n duvets etc. new carpet on floor too.

There is not really anything I liked. The interior is shabby, old and worn with the stair carpets dirty and stained.I Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The £50 I paid for the room was far too much.

The staff were very helpful the hotel is old but comfortable and the rooms were clean. If I were to return to Aberdeen I would stay again as it was cheap and central. The parking for the hotel only allows room for six cars, and where it is all other parking has to be paid for and only for one hour.

We travelled by train from Lancashire for a theatre trip and this hotel was in walking distance of both the hotel and the station. It is a beautiful granite building ideally situated for the shops and night life. Our room, 404, was spacious with an unusual separate lounge, complete with sofa, extra tv and roof top view that was reached by a staircase just inside the entrance. Breakfasts were more than adequate and all the staff were excellent. While the location of the hotel is ideally suited for the night life it also has the obvious problem of noise. Our room had double glazing, but not in the bath room so it was vital to keep the bathroom door closed to keep out the considerable street noise. This did not present a problem for us but as the hotel caters for hen and stag parties you could be unlucky to have them in a neighbouring room! Also, some people might find being situated next to night clubs, bars and a table dancing club somewhat unsettling, but it did not present a problem to us.

It was hard to like anything about the hotel except the location. The bed was comfortable. It was grubby, seedy, drab, generally unattractive. Hoovering the room would have helped a bit. The help-yourself breakfast was shocking. Orange juice was artificial. Cereal was little boxes. Egg was scrambled only and greyish, solidified with clear liquid on top. Even the beans tasted odd. Tomatoes were nice. Pervasive smell of oriental cooking on my floor which made me think it was being used to house long-term residents from council lists. Spoke about it afterwards to a few of my colleagues who had stayed before, all of whom said they would never stay again.

Handy for station; helpful staff; room spacious Lift on ground floor didn't seem to work well, had to climb up what seemed like many flights of stairs to second floor after long journey. Room was a bit tired, carpet worn and general decor old fashioned. Bathroom quite 1960s and looked in need of updating.
