Royal Hotel  

Personeel was heel vriendelijk, ontbijt was goed, ligt lekker centraal. Leuk was de extra kamer op de 4e verdieping.

De douche en wc hadden erg weinig waterdruk. De wc spoelde niet goed door en de douche was dan weer te heet, dan weer te koud en het mechanisme wat er voor moet zorgen dat je of alleen uit de douche of alleen uit de kraan water krijgt werkte niet, zodat je uit beide een dun straaltje kreeg, Ook de stang waar de douchekop op moest rusten viel voortdurend naar beneden. Het interieur kon een update gebruiken. Het geheel maakte de indruk alsof er al een tijd niets aan onderhoud gedaan was.

Ok as long as your not to fussy, bar resturant ok, close to nightlife could be niosey at night.

It was near the main railway st.

Heating was turned off by hotel at midnight and I almost froze thus could not sleep after that. Shower had some weird problem it would always run with the bottom tap and not individually.

The staff was great. Very accommodating group, very friendly. They knew the area well enough and were informative.

It's not a brilliant building. A bit drafty, which for me, that far north and in Winter, is a bit uncomfortable. The water wasn't very hot and although the bath itself was very nice, the fixtures were new and barely holding together. There were two chairs in the room and one dismantled slowly over the course of the first day. The flat-pack mdf funiture was on its last legs (the older stuff was nice and sturdy) I had trouble with the internet payment stuff, but the staff was more than anxious to fix the problem.

I had an early departure and the hotel staff got breakfast for me before the stated time which was a great gesture.

The room was nice and spacious and the meals were very nice, staff were friendly. It was a bit noisy at night but quite a pleasant hotel to stay in

The noise at night and the heating goes off at night so it was a bit chilly

Hotel was clean & comfortable. Location was handy for shopping etc. Would recommend to friends & family.

Lift was very slow in working!!!!

No parking and no pre-arranged alternative parking, terrible bed/mattress, outdated rooms... I won't staying there again.

Very limited car parking Rooms were reasonably clean although old and old fashioned especially the bathroom The hallways and public areas were quite grubby and in need of upgrade.

We travelled by train from Lancashire for a theatre trip and this hotel was in walking distance of both the hotel and the station. It is a beautiful granite building ideally situated for the shops and night life. Our room, 404, was spacious with an unusual separate lounge, complete with sofa, extra tv and roof top view that was reached by a staircase just inside the entrance. Breakfasts were more than adequate and all the staff were excellent.

While the location of the hotel is ideally suited for the night life it also has the obvious problem of noise. Our room had double glazing, but not in the bath room so it was vital to keep the bathroom door closed to keep out the considerable street noise. This did not present a problem for us but as the hotel caters for hen and stag parties you could be unlucky to have them in a neighbouring room! Also, some people might find being situated next to night clubs, bars and a table dancing club somewhat unsettling, but it did not present a problem to us.
