We only stayed at the Royal Lancaster for one night. The reception staff were excellent we even got a free room upgrade. The Hotel was clean and the room facilities could not be vaulted. We did not have the breakfast which at £23 was very expensive.

Very comfortable and convenient to many of the key central London attractions. Staff were charming and unstinting in their helpfulness. Room was spacious and atrractive.

The Island restaurant offered good, pleasant service with well presented dishes. The menu was a little too adventurous for our taste but it would have pleased many.

Food choice in room service

Clean rooms, Clean Bathrooms, good toiletries, smiling and friendly staff. Brilliant location, close to main shopping area and just a hop to Underground station.

We had booked 3 Double rooms with City View, but the first day we got only twin rooms due to non availability.These were though efficiently converted into Double Rooms from Day 2. Also City view was just a look at the hotel Car Park and nothing more!

Reception staff and room service was very good and efficient. The room was clean and served the purpose we needed it for, which was a rest stop before embarking on the London Moonwalk!!

I would only say, that as we got the room on a special deal, I found the standard of no better, if not less than a Premier Travel Inn (for which you get breakfast). The reception area was far superior but the rooms were not and the furniture looked a little shabby. For the price we paid it was fine, but would not want to pay the usual room price as on the website.

Excellent location just away from the hustle and bustle of the west end but right by Hyde Park and with Underground station immediately below, taxi rank outside and buses along Bayswater Road. Very comfortable hotel, effective air conditioning during hot weather. Own car park although expensive.

Location is excellent

Dealt with two different concierges during our saty. Both were very unhelpful and provided us bland and vague answers. It was like they wanted to stop talking to us as quick as possible. Room very small and poky. all the cleaners did was make our bed. there was no cleaning of the room at all! Would only recommend this hotel if a deal similar to the one I got was available.

Attentive staff and touble free parking.

Noisy plumbing and aircon. Would have asked for a different room of staying more than 2 nights.

Internet service

During our stay we visited sites in London including St Pauls and the Tate modern gallery. We also took the opportunity to visit the theatre.

We found the location good - close to Paddington Station and also next to a tube station with access to Hyde Park. The hotel is very clean and well maintained and the room we stayed in looked like it had been recently refurbished to a high standard. The front of house staff really were excellent; friendly, helpful and efficient.

We had a great trip and had only two negative things to say about this hotel - Firstly, the bar area is very "soulless", it has no atmosphere and is very expensive too. Secondly the hotel breakfast is very expensive - we did not have it an walked up to Paddington Station where we ate for a quarter of the prices offered in the hotel.
