With quality service, great views and 2 restaurants, the Lancaster London is across from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Shopping at Oxford Street and Knightsbridge is within walking distance. Nipa Restaurant serves good Thai cuisine, and chic Island Restaurant overlooks Hyde Park. Bedrooms are quiet, comfortable and air conditioned, and have bathrobes, 24-hour room service and marble bathrooms. The 4-star London hotel is very close to Lancaster Gate London Underground (subway) station and a short walk from Paddington Train Station. Hotel Rooms: 416

I am writing this on behalf of my parents who staid at the hotel during a family visit to London. The reason to choose this hotel was the proximity to my flat and the proximity to Hyde Park. Location was the reason for the choice and what they liked about their stay. I am writing on behalf of my parents who staid at the hotel during a family visit. I booked for them specifically a "superior" non- smoking "park view" room. When they arrived, they were given a room - it was the porter who noticed from the number that it was a "smoking room". Back to the counter and I was there. They were then given a room with absolutely zero view of the park, then a room with an oblique view of the park, then a room still with an oblique view, but a bit more of it. At which point they accepted. We were told that there are no "park view" rooms because of the position of the hotel. Only the top priced rooms have that view. The others mostly face an urban landscape. Notwithstanding the (misleading) description. And if that was a "superior" room, the normal rooms must be really tiny.

Proximity to Hyde Park We were very annoyed when we arrived as we had requested a smoking twin room. We were given a non-smoking double room which was entirely unsatisfactory as two men (father and son) were sharing the room. We were also told that there were no smoking rooms.

The hotel is in a great location for any London visit. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. I didn't like the noise level in the room. We were given the room by the lifts and by the housekeeping cupboard. Woken up every morning by banging doors and telephones ringing outside of the room.

The location was great, within walking distance of Paddington station and very close to the central line tube to get to Westfield shopping centre. Our room smelt of smoke. The buffet restaurant at breakfast was dirty (chairs badly soiled), cheap looking, cramped and not what I would expect for a hotel of this standard. The view was only partially over the park.

Everything was fantastic we loved staying here and when we come back to London on day this is where we will be staying! The Staff go out of there way to make sure you are happy, the room was nice and big, clean and very relaxing. The restaurants at the hotel are both delicious with excellent staff. We didn't want to leave!!!

Staff is friendly The way of charging for internet use is obsolete and expensive. 17.5 GBP per 24 hours and 10 GBP per 4 hours ( one go and not actual log-in time) Pricing of room seems too expencive while I stay there with 238 GBP for standard double room per night.

The executive room on the 18th floor was very nice. The staff were helpful The Thai restaurant was really bad. They tried to get one pound out of me for a newspaper, a cheap move for a 240 pound a night room. Also, no free internet for the room.

Friendly welcome. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Good location. The underground just below the building. Easy to get to all amenities. Right next to hyde park, great location. Quiet and nice hotel. Had to pay too much for breakfast, 15 pound per person. Clean sheets, but could have been cleaner in the bathroom. Only one chair in the room.

Good hotel. We stayed in superior double which was more than spacious enough for a short break, and very comfortable. Right on the doorstep of Hyde Park, Oxford Street and Theatreland. Staff we met were friendly and helpful. Island Restaurant round the corner (affiliated with the hotel) was very nice. Being London, nothing is cheap, but here especially you'll want to avoid room service. Very noisy air-con in my room.

We were attending the usual Annual IDTA conference event. Two observations. First there could/shound be stronger lighting in the bedroom. Second, although London is an expensive city we found your prices rather high and we would prefer you to include the service charge of 12 1/2% added to the price of food and drink or, as a prefernce, leave it to the discretion of the customer.

The hotel reception at check in. The room was clean and pleasant The meal at reception in the Ballroom was excellent I do not drink a great deal myself however ther was a lot of comments about the price of drinks. Breakfast is expensive when you consider the charge for room only. I am a senior 73yrs. I could not afford to stay to often. refer to the previous box above

Location and price were most suitable for me. 3 minutes by Taxi from London Paddington and the Heathrow Express. 2 minute walk to Lancaster Gate Underground (Central Line) which is pretty convinent for shopping at Oxford or Westfield as well as the event I'm attending was as well in the central line. The Hotel was comfortable and the staff were nice. Thier housekeeping's cleaning wasn't good, and at one point we came back to our room and it was filled with Cigarettes smell (it seems housekeeping were smoking in my non-smoking room).

Very good location, close to trains, underground, buses, parks, dining, and shoping. Very good service from staff. Everything worked well in the hotel. Furniture is a dated and worn. Some rooms had uncomfortable beds, but they worked to help us find one that was comfortable.

“The Mornington included a breakfast in the price of the room. The breakfast was very nice indeed and really set us up for the day. If we had been paying for a breakfast separately I'm sure it would have been £10 or £15 each per day. Also the hotel was situated very close to the Lancaster Gate tube station and we were also able to walk across Hyde Park to get to Harrods etc.” Jeff, Newtownards |
