I am writing this on behalf of my parents who staid at the hotel during a family visit to London. The reason to choose this hotel was the proximity to my flat and the proximity to Hyde Park. Location was the reason for the choice and what they liked about their stay.

I am writing on behalf of my parents who staid at the hotel during a family visit. I booked for them specifically a "superior" non- smoking "park view" room. When they arrived, they were given a room - it was the porter who noticed from the number that it was a "smoking room". Back to the counter and I was there. They were then given a room with absolutely zero view of the park, then a room with an oblique view of the park, then a room still with an oblique view, but a bit more of it. At which point they accepted. We were told that there are no "park view" rooms because of the position of the hotel. Only the top priced rooms have that view. The others mostly face an urban landscape. Notwithstanding the (misleading) description. And if that was a "superior" room, the normal rooms must be really tiny.

Price varied too significantly

We have stayed at the Lancaster several times now and find it's location and standard to be excellent. Staff are friendly and it couldn't be more conveniently located - close to underground, restaurants, great pub and Kensington Gardens.

My only criticism would be housekeeping, which is somewhat inconsistent in terms of providing tea, coffee etc. - it is either not replenished or there is not enough. It would be great if fresh milk was provided as a matter of course.

It was central for what we required on the city break, the staff were very helpful and efficient with any requests we had, the restaurant was nice but a bit pricey, the room was clean and comfortable with a nice view over looking the park and central london.

Location was good and so were the staff.

£15.50 for Breakfast? Constant door slamming from early in the morning. Paid for city view and overlooked a car park.

The hotel met all our requirements, location, quality, food etc. and ideal for our visit for the London Marathon

No bad points

Good location (10 min walk for Oxford st.) surrounded by 2 royal parks only few steps. There was a concierge to help you and answer yor questions. Helpful and smiling staff and many TV channels

No jemnasium, no swimming pool

The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and my room was very comfortable with a nice view, half park/half city skyline. It's also very convenient for the tube

Very confortable, friendly staff.

Should be available free wi-fi.

Old world charm and old world service with modern service facilities

Fantastic location near tube station.

not many cafes and shops

We enjoyed the hotel and it's excellent location, the staff were friendly and helpful . The view from the hotel was amazing .
