Lovely, the rooms had everything you could want, excellent breakfast and lovely food in the bar
Very hot, needed a fan, if windows were open to noisies to due to main road
Everything, room decor was amazing, size of the room was like a junior suite, even the bathroom was large and contemporary, and the free wifi was spot on and accurate, breakfast was tasty and nice and hot, love this place, and shall def be returning!!
Shower was a little unpredictable, would go hot then cold, but no major problem to us really, but may need addressing x
Comfortable, good meals, good location, wifi.
Low headroom and beams...OK if you are under 4' 9". Noise from pub revellers under window. Price nudging towards the top end of acceptable.
Accomodation. Staff Food
Poor car parking
good bedroom. good food. good staff.Owner had a wonderful sense of humour.
Felt that the smoking canopies outside the front of the inn totally spoilt the look of a lovely old building.
Friendly staff Situation
Comfort cleanliness and excellent food in restaurant
Room was very good. Good breakfast.
Would have liked to been on ground floor as we had a dog. Bit noisy.
The bedroom and bathrooms were excellent - one of the best we've ever stayed in.
The volume of road noise from the traffic. This obviously cannot be changed, but it does not improve the ambience of Royal Oak, particularly when sitting outside.
This was first class accommodation and cannot fault anything. The meals were excellent and so was the whole accommodation. Would highly recommend.
The fact we asked for a fan as room was too hot (flat roof and in sun would of hated a smaller room in this weather nice garden and room decor nice and homely bathroom nice but could do with a bit of a tart up
Owner behind bar came across as surley I questioned when a pint was poured, as is required by weights and measures that the glass (not having a pint line on it) be filled a litte more and not sporting the inch plus head given well you may of thought I'd asked for the details of his bank account, I stayed at the bar after the pint had been poured as he had asked if I required the menu as we were booked into the restaurant that evening when he returned from around the corner to see me still their the look he gave me!!! Maybe it started when upon check in I corrected him on my surname didn't apologise about his error just shrugged it off not a good first impression
garden room with direct access to garden
car park facility
Convenient, plenty of space in the room. Clean
very strong smell of cheap artificial air freshener in corridors and to some extent in the rooms. Hideous decorative scheme of black and chrome/silver - quite unnecessary Could do with double glazing on the windows overlooking the main road (although only any use if they do something about the smell so that they don't have to be fully open!) Room felt as though the heating were on in the middle of July (another reason for needing the windows wide open
Wonderful local feel. Highly recommended. Estelle
Everything was fantastic
The hotel is in a great position a little out of the town just a ten minute walk to pubs shops and river!!
felt bedrooms a little tired and just not worth the money I paid! cleanliness not a 100 percent to my liking
Peaceful room and excellent food and staff.
Very nice place rooms are fantastic ,dining room very nice I would go back anytime all staff are very helpful .
No bad comments at all !!!!!
Good location for Appleby horse fair
Car parking 100 yards away up a hill!
Comfortable bed and newly refurbished room 3. Wife said she'd like a bathroom as good! Food was great for both evening meal and breakfast.
Right on main road but not too busy. Customers chatted outside until around 2300 but not too raucous. Might be different on Friday/Saturday evening.
Everything ! Not one thing to complain about.
Very good with the small details in the rooms. Staff on the whole very friendly and helpful. Room clean, en-suite not pokey as so many are.
(Some of) the breakfast staff could be a bit more cheery
The room was lovely very clean and comfortable
