Location Meal in the restaurant- exceptional! Friendly staff
Lack of parking No elevator Lights on all night outside shining into bedroom
Friendly staff, good food and good sized rooms.
Bed a bit hard and quite expensive but liked it overall
Everything, room was large and elegant. Could not fault the place, staff were very helpful, especially jan she did make us laugh. Cannot wait to return one day.
As we were at the rear, the noise of the kitchen fans were a bit of a nuisance.
Staff, location, service
The location is excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient; always happy to help and oblige. This extends to their confirming my internet booking when I rang to check, and to the night porter opening the main door when I returned late one evening. I'd say the staff are faultless, in fact.
The bathroom window curtain was torn. Although the room facilities were good, the coffee wasn't replenished on one occasion. Breakfast was very slow one morning. One serious failing was that the plug on the desk lamp had a cover so loose that the live terminals were exposed (I fixed that!). Sadly, considering the premium rate I paid for the room, my overall impression is that it wasn't value for money.
Everything was perfect
Liked absolutely everything. ..nothing negative about the royal oak
We only stayed for one night so it is difficult to make a fair judgement but the food was excellent and we enjoyed our stay.
Our room was very noisy with a band playing underneath us and we did feel it was quite expensive.for one night.
The room no hot water no bathroom ventilation
Staff were friendly and helpfull. The food was great and good value for the quality which was produced. Location is excellent and we would highly reccommend to others.
Location, size of room, welcome, parking, quality of food, both in adjacent pub & main restaurant. Breakfast was ok ... just. Very ordinary for £185.00/night B & B.
Odd smell in upstairs corridor, of stale food? Waitress for Dinner had no idea about wines on offer, a little education here would enhance the service considerably & probably up-sell you lots more wine.
Customer service was fabulous-food in Grill Bistro outstanding. Location superb
Main road location but little noise Good size bedrooms, plenty of space for hanging clothes Wide menu choice Comfortable and quiet lounge Pleasant and helpful staff motivated for good service
No lift Limited parking No shelf beneath bathroom mirror !!
We liked the central location and the view of the river is a nice and relaxing food also very good
Could do with more info on thing going on like when busy you really need to book to go on the train and small maps to show whats going on like finding swallow falls
Location of the hotel is very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good range of eating places, with very good food.
Our room 209 was a little warm which resulted in us having to keep the windows open at all times.
location was excellent. Staff attitude was friendly & made us feel welcomed. Great food too & lovely room. Would visit again
No air condition - found the fan on a top shelf as we were leaving but nice large windows helped bring in cool air.
Good central location
Sited within a few feet of the road so if you are not used to the whoosh of traffic this hotel is not for you. No garden, the green shown in the picture is the park on other side of main road
The bedroom was beautiful with a really large comfortable bed. The breakfasts were lovely with plenty of choice and dining in the restaurant was also a pleasure.
Would have liked a bigger bath to soak in and I think the packed lunches were overpriced, especially as there was only a small bottle of water. Considering most people would go climbing a larger bog standard bottle would have been more appreciated.
Food was excellent and the portions more than adequate. The staff very efficient, helpful and friendly.
Nothing of any consequence
Location was superb for North Wales. Hotel was clean and friendly. Breakfast was amazingly hot and tasty 10 out of 10!! Three areas to eat which provided for different price range and food availability.
No water in the room for on a night. Breakfast staff seemed a bit unorganised and things were running out without them noticing.
Very pleasant atmosphere. Food and drinks were great. Room was nice. Beautiful scenery.
The room, poor standard for a superior room, dated in need of modernisation heating would not turn off. The whole hotel in need of revamp
The staff was really fantastic. We had a flat near the hotel and they sent a car to collect us (and our baggage) and even offered to check with local garages. They were wonderful.
Being a very old building, the water pressure was a distinct problem. To take a warm (not hot) shower, we were told to open the cold water faucet in the sink so we could have hot water in the shower. But the water pressure was very low.....
Location. Superior room was lovely. Staff very friendly.
Wifi wasnt accessible even though we booked a superior room . Felt restaurants closed a little early at 8.45pm.
Excellent food and ambience
Room was too warm - until we found the fan - and the road noise meant we couldn't have the windows open
Location is great though the picture of the hotel is misleading as it is on a main road and not in the middle of parkland as it seems to appear! The restaurant was good and at £25 for a 3 course meal, was good value for money.
Overall this wasn't good value for money at £155 per night and the breakfast was a little chaotic (running out of orange juice and glasses) and perhaps a little understaffed, though the food was good.
