Location in center of Betws
Over priced takes advantage of prime location, but very tired!!!!!
Restuarant was good. Most staff were excellent.
Not value for money. Not seeing the standard rooms so cannot compare size or fittings, etc, but presume the extra cost is for the view. Trees and a carpark was our view.
the main restaurant was closed from sunday to wednesday
staff excellent and very friendly, food at the stables bar excellent and good value for money and again staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble
The staff were excellent and the room was great value for money
THE STAFF AND GENERAL ATTITUDE IN THE PLACE WE WERE VERY COMFORTABLE
Location is magnificent - right in the middle of Betws and opposite the river and the park
Food in the Bistro was disappointing The hotel was completely unable to book me a taxi to a nearby school for an 8.00am start the following day - In the end the best they could do was point me at a bus service. the train service is once every 3 hrs - with no trains at convenient times for normal working days - advice do not visit without a car!
Friendly staff quality restaurants would defiantly stay again
Was over what I think was the kitchen was no smell but the room was uncomfortably hot
Great view from the window. Room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very helpful at all times.
Only a few minor things! Bed was very high off the ground. Limited food choice in the grill and restaurant. Bathroom extractor fan didn't work and wasn't fixed when it we raised this with reception.
All of it, from start of stay to end of stay
nothing to complain about
The location was perfect. In easy reach for everything we had planned. The food in the bistro was very good and value for money.
Rooms could do with a little updating. This is not a complaint as the room was very nice but just a bit tired looking.
bathroom was large and shower powerful. Food was good and they are not small portions either. Royal Oak is an old building and has lots of character.
rooms very stuffy, could benefit from some form of air conditioning. Very long walk to our room 212 which was right at the back of the hotel. Didn't ask, but did not appear to have a lift
The meal in the Bistro
The meal in the bar.
The twin rooms location the bathroom was really nice
Beds were uncomfortable in room 233 need new beds & shower head not enough water flow
Friendly staff, good food, comfy rooms and well situated for travelling around north wales
The noisy crows in the morning!!!!
The location was superb, right in the heart of Betws-y-coed and right on the A5 so easy to find and get out to Snowdon. Room was spacious and located at the back of the hotel so nice and quiet and away from the lively Stables pub next door. Plenty of choice for food which was of great quality and well priced. Staff were lovely and always ready to help.
We found the mattress a little too hard for our liking and the pillows lumpy which the staff were more than happy to swap. I personally found the room a little too warm, but the girlfriend found it perfect. Generally a great alround hotel to base yourself for a hiking break to Snowdonia.
I have stayed here before with my wife and slept in one of your premium rooms. This time I was with my son and we stayed in a standard twin room. Staff were great, food was good and the stay was enjoyable
The room we were given was at the back of the hotel overlooking where the staff go for a smoke. This made the evenings in the room a bit noisy and could smell the cigarettes. Also If you look up at the lights in the bathroom whist you are in the bath the three spotlights are full of bugs. If I came back I wouldn't stay in a rear facing room.
All the staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and cheerful. The food was very good with a varied choice of menus. A most enjoyable stay which we hope to repeat as soon as possible..
Car parking was sometimes difficult with the large number of visitors to the area who were not residents. There was no air conditioning or lift.
food very good indeed in the Llugwy restaurant
poor wi-fi connectivity in room
Location Meal in the restaurant- exceptional! Friendly staff
Lack of parking No elevator Lights on all night outside shining into bedroom
Friendly staff, good food and good sized rooms.
Bed a bit hard and quite expensive but liked it overall
Everything, room was large and elegant. Could not fault the place, staff were very helpful, especially jan she did make us laugh. Cannot wait to return one day.
As we were at the rear, the noise of the kitchen fans were a bit of a nuisance.
Staff, location, service
The location is excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient; always happy to help and oblige. This extends to their confirming my internet booking when I rang to check, and to the night porter opening the main door when I returned late one evening. I'd say the staff are faultless, in fact.
The bathroom window curtain was torn. Although the room facilities were good, the coffee wasn't replenished on one occasion. Breakfast was very slow one morning. One serious failing was that the plug on the desk lamp had a cover so loose that the live terminals were exposed (I fixed that!). Sadly, considering the premium rate I paid for the room, my overall impression is that it wasn't value for money.
Everything was perfect
Liked absolutely everything. ..nothing negative about the royal oak
