The Staff were excellent in every way.
My upgrade was not money well spent! We are both in our seventies and the upgrade moved us up to the top floor. If I had known this I would not have accepted the upgrade.
breakfast very good and staff very friendly
no lift and not warned before hand there were 2 flights of stairs to climb before getting to our room
Homely. Informal. Comfortable.
Heating poor. Could have done with a breakfast at 7am (earliest 7.30).
Nice ,well mannered staff especially reception and welcome
Poor breakfast Not freshly cooked Organised evening meal Not value for money Main course tasty ,but small . Sweet course ,no option
Excellent location for the town. Staff very helpful and friendly. Relaxing stay.
Car park difficult to find. Room hot. Dripping tap. Plastic under sheet crackled!
Helpful and cheerful staff
Room was very warm at times.
Friendly service, very good food and the nicest pint I've had in a while
Mostly good, although the bathroom seemed a bit coldly decorated.
Service was great and room and bathroom was lovely
Noisy traffic :-)
Convenient and cheap. Good bar. Central. Friendly
Very helpful and friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere. Public areas very cheerful. Breakfast delicious.
Our bathroom was rather tired and could do with a re-vamp
Second visit to the Royal Oak...friendly and attentive service...lovely breakfast and real ale!
not applicable :-D
Good location and clean.
dated furniture and a very small television in the bedroom.
The staff are extremely helpful and the breakfast is really good, like home made.
a little tired in places but more this was more than made up for by the brilliant friendly staff.
Excellent spacious room and bathroom. Good food in restaurant.
Difficulty in finding the hotel due to the one way road system round Welshpool.
The facilities and the friendlyness of the staff was absolutely brilliant .Spot on .
Early check in nice room
No hot water in the morning
The atmosphere of an ancient hotel that has been preserved. Value for money was good and the old fashioned style layout of the building was querky and charismatic.
can't fault it
The filthy mouldy bathroom The lack of any hot water The awful breakfast The fact that we were locked out at night
Breakfast staff were friendly. Room was spacious.
For a 'contemporary' room some of the fittings did not work/feel new. ie. bedside light missing, unable to turn off tap, grouting etc. in bathroom less than fresh looking. The room was also very warm, uncomfortably so. Windows could not be opened but a fan was provided. Using a fan at the end of November was odd. Breakfast food was average but I was given good coffee.
Royal Oak staff make the place as well as the excellent food. Great price and everything you need for comfortable stay. Recommended!
Some of the decor in the bedrooms is dated, but who cares? Clean, warm, comfortable - all you need.
Hotel clean and tidy. Location very good. Plenty of parking availability with the hotel.
Breakfast could have been better throughout.
Great location. Great friendly staff. Fantastic value for money meals.
Light switch fell off in my hand. one of lights didnt work. Bed very uncomfortable. Window hinge broken. Asked for a view...got a wall. Asked for a wake up call at 8 but hotel forgot to change the clocks for winter and got a call at 7.
everything except the Wi-Fi connection! I would definitely use this hotel again, and I would recommend it to anyone.
poor Wi-Fi connection
windows draughty didn't latch blinds that didn't work no cords bathroom tilling that was loose noisy old building, other residents food spoilt all overcooked dry and tasteless
