Staff Cleanliness Food from the steakhouse was lovely
Location made me feel a bit isolated but great for people who like the peace and quiet of the countryside
Cooked breakfast very good Evening meals very good , good choice and reasonable prices Easy to find Accessible for three counties Lovely staff and helpful - welcoming. Discount given as skittle competition in the room upstairs - but noise did not disturb us anyway and finished at 9.30pm.
Variety of alternatives to cooked breakfast minimal - although we didn't need to ask as satisfied with cooked breakfast. Only 2 rooms - outside the hotel so direct access into the room from car park ... Not very private . Curtains very thin and only half length of box window. No hair dryer
Owners and staff were so welcoming to us and dog. Food and choice of drinks were of a great standard. Nice location. Would go back :)
Could do with a king sized bed.
Everything from food to accommodation and staff
The food, beer and service were all excellent.
Not the comfiest of beds.
I loved the character and ambience of the place. The location was excellent for places to visit. There was a friendliness from staff and the food was excellent. I would recommend to anyone wanting very good accommodation and access to all that Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds and Wales have to offer.
Nice friendly steakhouse with lovely staff.
The staff were absolutely wonderful, very efficient but also very kind and informative. The food was so good we decided to eat there every night as usually we only eat once where we stay.
Nice atmosphere at the steakhouse, staff very helpfull, rooms set away from road so quiet. Will definatelty stay here again.
Loved the steak! But must have been the most uncomfortable night I have spent anywhere ever! At 2.30 am I nearly went to sleep in the car outside- good thing I didn't as it was surrounded by a wasp nest!
Bed - awful! Terrible smell also like stale cheap perfume! Someone should sack the decorator who cannot do straight lines! Also, door failed to lick from inside which could disturb some!
we arrived at 530pm a bit early for the evening opening but no problem it was a lovely day and beautiful gardens to sit in, no sooner had we sat than a lady appeared and said she would fetch our key. We decided to eat in the pub that night and the food was amazing i had Liver and onions, my husband had a curry and it was delicious well presented and good value for money. Breakfast the next morning was just as good.
there is nothing i could fault, honestly the staff were lovely the room was good the food exellent.
No long wait for meals and breakfast served whatever time you like
The welcome and offer of food when we were late arriving.
staff very friendly and helpful made a lovely breakfast next morning. room was large very clean, lovely and comfortable and peacefull. really enjoyed stay and will go back. thank you very much
Staff were very helpful and polite. Restaurant food was outstanding!
The food was excellent and the staff friendly. Plenty of people were dining on the Monday night but only 2 other couples on the Sunday night.
The steakhouse closed after our meal on Sunday night. It did state that orders for food would be taken up to 19.00. The place was not used by the locals for drinking. We had to return to our room as there was nowhere else to sit. The room was adequate but opened off a huge car park. I was disappointed on Monday to find that our room had not been cleaned or the bed made when we returned late afternoon. Clean cups had been provided and some waste newspapers removed. I would go back there for a meal but not to stay.
Very good breakfast....nicely served.
Walls rather thin between my room and next. It would have made life difficult had they been a noisy couple next door, or late arrivals back, in the evening!
Very friendly, meals were gorgeous, really couldn't do enough to make your stay a pleasant one. With beautiful surroundings and a real feeling of tranquillity, would recommend it.
Only problem is a bit off the beaten track and with limited taxis in the area it is the only down to it unless you have your own transport. We did find a good taxi man who drove here there and everywhere during our stay.
Tea/Coffee making facilities and being able to eat in the restaurant attached, food was good.
Lighting in bedroom wasn't brilliant
everthing it was all good
the location map
The food was good and the dining experience was excellent.
Only one chair in a room for two people. Very weak WIFI in room. A rickety trolley and two mini stools were the desk/table facility.
lovely pub/resturant. staff very attentive. food good value. good steak. accomodation was lovely or could have been, see did not like. we would stay again, most definatley.
a hoover around the skirting boards in bedroom and bathroom. dusting off of cobwebs. around loo smelt of pee. overall the accomodation just needs a good clean. [ slightly larger tv] and slight attension to details of curtain hanging and 2 bedside cabinets.
Good clean rooms, nice staff and friendly feeling - great location for walking the hills and good vfm. Recommended
Couldn't get shower to work but nice to have a bath for a change - not a deal breaker
We had a warm welcome.the meal in the evening and the breakfast were both very good.
Unfortunately the room smelled badly of cigarette smoke.the landlady was apologetic but it did spoil the afternoon and evening guite a lot.
