Staff helpful when there was an issue with booking
Hotel wasn't as advertised on Booking.com - room booked for 4 adults turned out to be a family room for 2 adults and 2 children
Brilliant value for money: comfortable beds, nice en-suite with a good bath/shower (very useful after a trip to the comic con), on top of a pub that serves good food (the lasagne had a very generous salad) for not-extortionate prices (as long as you dont get breakfast there), very good walking distance from the nearest train station (be warned though, London zone 6 ends the station before that one, at Rainham. There aren't any barriers though so you can get away with it of no-one comes to check)
Not particularly close to shops, the only shop we found was a small convenience store (which sells a decent selection of things actually) near the train station, and we didn't find a cash machine. Also the day we went it was incredibly windy outside and it was so loud on our first-floor room that it woke us up.
staff and food really good, floorboards in room moved when walked on,
people outside main door smoking and having to walk thru the smoke
It was very good for a night stay in London. Good value for money
Hard to find
The beds where not very good
Room and staff fantastic
Staff, facilities and accommodation
The bed and the breakfast.
The dirty bath, the shower covered in lime scale, and grease from the previous occupant, was advise that contract workers had been using the rooms in the week. The grease on the mugs and kettle. Not impressed. The fact that I thought I had booked a room in the hotel to be told the room was in the annex no info supplied prior to arrival to say we would be in the annex. We did report to the receptionist about the grease etc she said that they were using new cleaning staff, I think they need to review their policy that the rooms are checked prior to customers arrivals, she did offer another room in the same building but it was declined on the basis that the chances of them being any better cleaned was pretty low, and after an exhausting day / drive, after asking she did supply a clean mug, I cleaned the kettle myself, but the shower could not be used, I did take photos of the shower and bath.
Reception lady was friendly enough
The 'annexe' we were placed in was horrible, dirty, smelled and was damp. There was a broken window and out bedroom window was open on our arrival to try and clear the smell and damp. We couldn't stay the night and handed keys back within the hour and left!
limited parking area no aircon in room
Good friendly staff, very helpful and polite
Accomodation very basic and drab in appearance.
Was local to motorway and reachable easily, good view of Thames and boats going past. Pub facility on site and staff friendly, food available. Car park on site.
Food prices were a bit steep , room was basic and small tv. No other options in area for food or drink , sat nav takes you past on main road and needs to take you into housing estate and follow round road. Postcode needs changing .
The decor in the restaurant was lovely, with chandeliers and large wooden model ships. It gave an impression of being rather grand. The food itself was really nice, the beds comfy and the location was great, right on the river edge.
After the decor in the main building being so grand I was disappointed that the rooms in the annex were very basic. The tiles and shower head really need cleaning
