We appreciated the courtesy of the staff, the comfort of our room and the quality of the breakfast. We didn't really appreciate the climb up three flights of stairs. If there was a lift we were not told of its existence.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was great - walking distance to town centre and castle. Rooms were a little on the small side but as we were only staying one night this was not really an issue.

The bed was uncomfortable and had no mattress protector. I was working late Sat eve so wanted a lye in on sunday, this was sadly not allowed as there was hoovering along the corridor just after 9am and also children were allowed to run riot in the corridor from 9am. The room was tiny and not good value for money at all!

The location .walking distance to the town and castle The small double room was very small two people could not walk around the room at the same time! Although it was booked as a small double the bed wasn't even a 4'6' bed. And as a mature couple we are not small.

The room we stayed in- no.41 was well presented, a warm comfortable and smart style. Great sized shower. The staff were very friendly and polite.... Called us to let us know we had left something in our room after checking out. Room service was great and breakfast was tasty Hair dryer had damage to the handle which partially exposed a wire did not appear to be imminently dangerous. Bar area could benefit from some more comfortable sofa-like chairs.

Never had some brilliant customer service before! Stayed at Royal Adelaide for 4 night to relax and enjoy and explore the history of Windsor and Eton. Wonderful staff who never say no! Special thanks to Sarah who totally made our trip far more comfortable and relaxing than it would have been. All other statt around the hotel are polite and friendly. Willing to listen & care enough to do whatever makes the guests happy. Rooms on the lower floor are a little noisy especially as it is a older building albeit a nice victorian style, and not ideal for the light sleeper. As my husband & I came to Windsor to relax, sleep-in, and unwind from a hectic few months, we really could not handle being woken up by noisy neighbours and other guests above us. That very first morning we spoke to Sarah at reception who was really aplogetic and offered to move us to a higher floor - which were agreed to. The room was lovely, slightly bigger and no noisy neighbours. This was soooo much better for us and we were very grateful for the peace and quiet. This is also another reason to stay here if you want to be away from all the hustle and bustle of the town centre. its only 15-20 mins walk away and on a quieter inside road away from the main streets of windsor town, avoiding the noisy tourist (and there are LOADS of them!) in the early mornings and evenngs. There are other good hotels right on the main strip of windsor which we took a peak of inside their lobbies - but quite abit more expensive for thie locality I assume. Breakfast at the Royal Adelaide was okay. Basic to set you up for the day. cereals, fruit, a few pastries. And cooked breakfast was included in our rate and was also basic. I thought the eggs were raw and tasted 'off' so I stuck to tea and toast every day after that! My husband and most of the guest seemed to enjoy their sausage, bacon, eggs and beans!! Breakfast was served only until 9am on weekdays - a little too early for us as we were there to relax and have a nice lie-in - but didnt expect to have to wake up the same time as we do for work back at home just to make the breakfast! As it was included in the rate felt we should take advantage of it as otherwise we'd have to walk about 15 mins to get breakfast and pay 'Royal' prices for it too! Hotel is about 15-20 min walk slightly up hill to the main area of shops/cafes. It wasn't a big problem for us as we like walking but it you were pekish or wanted a drink without paying room service prices, then it would be abit annoying to walk all that way for a few things. My tip, if you get this hotel at a good price and dont mind walking then stay here and buy a few essential bits from M&S and keep them in the room - although they dont give you a mini fridge so another little bother if you want to keep drinks cold etc. I kept my bottled water and my husband's coke on the window sill and we made do with coolish sips at night!! We were not told before hand that the hotel changed it credit card payment policy from the 1st May - which meant you had to pay extra if paying by credit card. I had budgeted for this 4 night stay and planned to pay if off at the end of the month and wanted to ideally use my credit card but for us it would have meant an extra £8 credit charge charge so I paid charge free on my debit card instead. A little annoying. Probably other hotels will be doing something similar..? For a 4* hotel I personally would have expected a mini fridge - never mind! Rooms - we booked a superior doulble, if you can get that at a good rate then defo go for it - As it was spacious enough to enjoy and felt more 4* ish. I imagine the 'normal' double would have been quite abit smaller. Overall no big complaints.
