Excellent value for money, good breakfast and good location next to Brighton Pier. We could not open any of the windows in our room and there were no other ventilation as far as we could see (apart from the toilet extractor fan). As a result the air inside got very stuffy and warm. |

When checking out of the hotel we were told that the bill was already paid we claimed that not to be the case, and the receptionist took cash of us for our stay as it turns out my credit card statement came in the post today with your website taking the payment rather than the reservation so we have paid twice for our stay could this be looked into as we will require a refund for the double payment, would appreciate a prompt reply please Thanks |

The view.a fabulous position in a gracious building. The breakfast was good and plentiful, with a free newspaper. We had only paid £47 for the room including breakfast, so it was a bargain. It was a big family room, although there were only 2 of us., with a spa bath. The internet site we got it from said it was a £180 room... Well had I paid that I would have been really annoyed with the state of the place.standard. The Hotel was grubby. The bedding was clean, but it didnt look as thought the room had been cleaned. The corridors were grubby shabby chic, I believe is the term. When we checked in early "Evening" there were used glasses and cups outside some rooms. No toiletries in our bathroom. I phoned down because there was a radiator on and it was so hot. A man turned up 30mins later.I also mentioned no toiletries he said shall I bring some up I said leave them outside as I was going to bed (it was 11.45 by now) When I got up nothing there so I left it. Maybe he had misunderstood me. We phoned down for an iron before going to breakfast, so that it would be in the room when we got back. No iron. No reply when we phoned again, as reception was so busy checking people out. My friend searched the corridors for a staff member to supply an iron. This was a Monday morning. I noticed a member of staff at reception was still on duty from when we checked in about 15 hours earlier. I would recommend the Hotel at £40 to £50 a night, not at £180. I havent read the guest reviews. I will do so know., I would visit regularly at £40 to £50 per night. The comments Ive made are for the benefit of management to improve the customer service. I do Market Search Surveys etc. etc. and believe these to be useful. We also stayed at their Bournemouth Hotel a while back and the room we had had a dreadful smell of damp, there was a patch on the ceiling a flood probably, it was dry, but the smell was awful maybe the carpet. I mentioned this on check out they said they would see to it. !! Dont know if they did anything about it. |

The staff were very hepful an pleasant. The breakfast was quite enjoyable but maybe there should be have been a bit more variety eg. vary the choices each day instead of the same thing every day. The upkeep of the room could have better a couple of examples were the bed only had the duvet pulled up and the sheet had not been touched. Another thing was that used glasses were not washed or replaced. |

The convenience to beach, shops and buses The first room they put is in was a disgrace. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the tiles in the bathroom were chipped/broken, the room stank of cigarette smoke, the toilet bowl was cracked in many places and on the verge of breaking as well as filthy under the bowl rim, the chair in the bedroom looked as though it had been eaten by rats. The room was in a centre well with a tiny window looking onto inner walls and the heat was indescribable. They moved us the next night as the hotel was full and we were put in a better room but the person restocking room supplies forgot to give us milk for making tea or any biscuits as well as toiletry supplies - no soaps or shampoos. This wasn't a major problem as we had our own supplies but perhaps another guest would have had to complain. |

We did not spend much time in the hotel. the bathroom was very dirty, light bulbs missing in the bedroom and the bathroom. In very good need of being done-up, window would only open about 12 inches therefore room was really hot. Hairdryer would not work, wardrope was broken so was top of TV. The Literature was all stained with coffee and water, beds very bad. As i work in the hotel industry i would not be staying at the Royal Albion Hotel in the near future. |

The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was right in the centre of town, and on the seafront, so it was easy to reach everything of interest. The restaurant was buffet style, which I did not like, and had a very limited menu. |

The hotel was in a very central location and the breakfast was very good. The hotel itself was a bit 'shabby' as it wasn't very clean and the window pane in our bedroom was broken. |

Excellant location on seafront opposite pier. Good buffet breafast. Comfortable room but see comments below. First room offered was hot and stuffy with window screwed shut. We were givern a transfer to an adjacent room and although window opened it only opened about 8" and had to be propped open with cardboard. It was still very hot but they provided a fan which helped considerably. Although room was clean and quite comfortable it badly needed refurbishing. |

The australian porter was very helpful - in contrast to some other staff. The smoking rooms are in the basement. They are so grim we demanded to change rooms. We also refused the next room offered because of noise from a unit immediately outside the window. The third room offered was already occupied! The fourth room was ok despite scaffolding outside it. Key point - smokers are treated like 2nd class citizens - don't accept it! |

the location was ideal to enable easy access to the sights in Brighton yet the rice was reasonable. The single room was quite cramped and the TV remote did not work but this was only a minor inconvenience. The waiting time at the reception desk was a bit long on a couple of occasions. |

The hotel was perfectly located and the breakfast in the morning was very good. I ordered 5 rooms, twin as there was five pairs of men. When we got in the rooms they were double. The reason given was that as I booked it with another outside company it was a case of get what you were given. I understand this and was dissapointed but asked what they could do. |
