Cleanses of hotel
The weather it rained on second. Day
The room, restaurant/breakfast, the grounds & location.
When we ordered room service, the food came uncovered, even though the maid had visited the room while we were at breakfast, the plates had not been removed, neither had surfaces been wiped down, but apart from that, we enjoyed our stay.
Great location, with a Spa pool
Couldn't turn the heating off in our room, so listened to a broken downpipe in the rain through the open window!
Good location, helpful and friendly staff. Hotel was well appointed
Large spacious public rooms.
The whole place looked tired and in need of a coat of paint, which gives the impression that the place is not as clean as it could be. The windows to our room were filthy!
View Room clean but could do with some cosmetic touches . Excellent value however
Breakfast was a bit chaotic
We like the location and the views from the hotel room.
The majority of staff was not very friendly or helpfull and at times eating in front of customers and laughing at other members of staff in front of customers i found to be very unprofessional. The room had a shower head that was coming off the wall. The pillows were too small for the size of bed and the bed was too soft. The decor in general looking tired and in need of attention . We found dogs walking around the corridors where people were eating. The facilities such as the gym and pool are at an extra cost , and the caffe overlooking the peer was closed to the public, again that was dissapointing as the views on a nice day are beautifull. We were very dissapointed with the hotel as we were not aware of the changes. The current standards are a lot different npow that it is owned by Brittania Hotel, but we did find the porters very friendly and helpful. We did not initially get the room we paid for but after I went back to the reception this was changed accordingly. The general standard was no more than a common bed and breakfast which is a shame because this used to be a very sort after Hotel to stay at with impeccabile service and quality.
The hotel is very nice in a very good location.
The bar meals are very poor quality and VFM
Swimming pool and leisure area, the room had a lovely sea view with massive balcony.
Had to run the hot water tap to the hottest and had to wait about 15 minutes for it to actually feel a bit warm and the water from the taps at first was brown
Clean and friendly hotel. Spacious and airy. Our room wad tucked away on the West Wing but nice and quiet. Small room but suited our needs. Delicious breakfast for good variety. Dinner was ok but nothing special, pay for what you get. We'd stay again :)
Location - right in the heart of Bournemouth
the extra charges - £20 per day for parking, £4 per day per person for using the swimming pool and a surcharge for using a debit card.
Replacement third floor room was much better
The bedroom offered was a semi-basement gloomy place which was changed on complaining
Food was great and not expensive
At night, doors banging floor banging and creeking
splendid location close to all beach and town amenities
car park price of £20 per night very steep when about 100 yards away the road parking is free
The hotel was very good, location was good, staff were friendly. All in all a good hotel
Heating was on when not needed, also mantainence men were working at a time when some people were having a nap in the afternoon.
Excellent location for walking, the beach, eating places and the shops. Breakfast was very good. The bed was very comfortable & the room had everything we needed.
The radiator didn't work so after a long walk along the beach it took a long time to get warm. I rang reception about the problem & was told that the hotel was heated on a set timer to come on at 6pm. There was never any heating the entire time of our stay.!
The leisure club was nice
Had to pay for use of leisure club .the rooms were bad stain on bedsheets sunken bed and too much noise
Location, price, comfy bed
Inflexable reception staff, room not ready @ 2.45 to check in - wouldnt allocate us one that was ready. No directions to room. Not advised of bfast times. Rest also closed at 8.30 on Sat eve - again not informed.
We booked a standard double room and got a sizeable room with a sea view.
Breakfast was a bit of a scrum around the buffet. A bit more space would help.
Location was marvellous as we wanted to visit the Russell Coates museum[next door] this is so worth a visit as the two buildings have a connection. Our room was on a deal, big ,freshly painted and very warm. The bed was clean and comfortable Others we met had paid a huge amount for a suite which was'tired' according to them. Breakfast was great for the £5 each we paid for it.
The vast dining room is better if you grab a window seat.It would have helped to know how much extra the swimming pool cost in advance and that it was a one off payment per stay.
The location of the hotel was perfect, ideal for Beach & Shopping. It is a fabulous old building with all you could need. Very comfortable & welcoming, we would definitely go again.
breakfast was appalling, therefore we didnt eat in the hotel restaurant and the staff at breakfast had no smiles, a good morning or a please or thank you.
Superb position, good sized room, pleasant bar and good value for money.
