Room too hot
Feels almost like an historical place. Good service at breakfast. Seaview.
Rusting abandonned pier in front of the hotel.
the bigger room we had, my mum found the toilet a little exposed as the lower half of the window next to the toilet seat is clear.
The view from our bedroom window was lovely and the sound of the sea. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had room service one evening and the meals were very good value for money.
Having to checkout and go home, would have loved to stayed longer.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Liked the sea view and the location of the hotel.
Checking-in problem at the start in reception wasn't pleasant. Daily room cleaning can be improved.
Clean accomadation Very Good food Good Value
Very Poor Ventulation in rooms unable to open windows.
Room was large and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful
Parking space limited and hard to access. Hotel a bit run down
We had excellent welcome, great staff, good food 9espeically beef sandwich and onion rings - good breakfast. Staff well trained ,cold water, sea view and biscuits- what more could I ask for in Engalnd I even swam in the sea. though I was the only one ..
Excellent location and clean, inexpensive rooms.
Carpets and decor are very dated. Hotel needs updating.
the late bar,staff very frendly
asked for a sea view!!!! got a building site view.....
Although the hotel was fully booked and was hosting two weddings, the staff were unfazed and service was excellent. Menus were good with a varied choice.
Location, room size, staff, breakfast.
Only minor grumble was the bed was too soft for my taste.
The location was excellent, right on the front, walking distance to the Victorius festival we were attending. Breakfast was good. room was spacious and the complimentary tea facilities was well equipped. Staff were polite and helpful.
Hotel is dated, could do with a refurb. There was only one bath towel for 2 guests. Room was cold, maybe as it was right at the end of the hot spell, and heating was yet to kick in. Pricey for such basic out of date accommodation.
Nice sized rooms, clean and ideal location
Bar staff were slow and welcoming
I booked for a friend and i to stat for one night on 23rd August 2014 as we were attending the local Victorious Festival. The hotel is perfectly located, a short walk to the town, right on top of the beach and has on site free parking (which was my only issue but i will come back to that) We arrived early, before check in, and the very helpful reception staff took our bags and arranged for them to be put in our room for our arrival later that evening. When we can back, the check in was quick and simple and our bags were in out room. Our twin room was large and bright and very clean. Couldnt have asked for more. We had drinks and a late dinner in the hotel bar, good food and wine and a very very helpful young man behind the bar. We checked out easily and can day thay every staff member we came accross was happy, always smiling and very helpful. If i want a night in Southsea again i will certain look to stay here.
One down side ... the car park. Yes it advertised as limited - but its still an ok size ... it states everywhere to ensure you park inside the bays but when we left at 9am the next morning i was blocked in by another guest who had parked randomly. Means i had great difficulty leaving the car park - maybe it needs to be monitored? But thats my only grumble.
Clean Great view from lounge
Looking a little dated & tired Hard bed
The staff were really pleasant and helpful throughout. The hotel itself is smart and well maintained, single bed room was charming.
Difficulty finding the rear car park, needs better signage.
Extremely spacious room, comfortable bed with great view over ocean. Good amenities. Main dining room spacious with good food. Reception staff very helpful.
The staff and the breakfast were lovely - the girl on reception tried to move us to a room further away from the noise!! The actual location was excellent and we appreciated a table by the window at breakfast as the sun sparkling on the sea was spectacular.
Wedding parties playing inane pop rubbish until 12 midnight - not what we had anticipated and so we would avoid the hotel at weekends in future.
We didn't stay long enough
The helpfulness of the staff both in the restaurant and reception.
The parking facilities were supposed to be available to residents easily. When we arrived there were no spaces available in the hotel car park and I had to park on the street. In the evening approx 5 pm I again had to park away from the Hotel. I was only able to park in the Hotel car park at 10.30 pm because a mamber of the staff moved her car for me. It appears that a Tea dance was on and so no spaces for Guests. Is this good PR?
Staff lovely and helpful, great location. The room was a bit small but very comfortable. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Comfortable room and refreshments available.
Fire doors banging until three in the morning on floor two made sleep difficult. The restricted height access to the car park meant we had to use steet parking when we had chosen the hotel because of the secure parking, and we were not aware of the restriction Our car had a roof box fitted.
Very comfortable, spacious and pleasant rooms. Exceedingly polite staff.
Breakfast not included and very expensive
