“ An excellent hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff we have met in many years. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable and the added extra of an iron was ideal. Food in the restaurant was lovely and service excellent so we ate in both nights. ”

Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Room with sea-view. Little bit far from the city centre. Corridor doors need to be changed/refurbished, remind me of a hospital.

The rooms were very spacious, and the beds comfortable. The black out curtains were effective. We had rooms overlooking the beach - beautiful - and on bus route to the Historic Docks. Breakfast was plentiful. Having to come home!

I had a comfortable single room on the top floor, with a panoramic view of the city towards Portsdown Hill. In spite of the bitterly cold weather, my room was warm and cosy. On arrival I was made to feel very welcome and the receptionist later went to the trouble of researching Easter Day church services for me. Breakfasts were super- poached smoked haddock or kippers with poached or scrambled egg "on request" - what a treat! My thanks to Chef and the pleasant dining room staff.

Generous size room, great view big cumfy bed, free internet, lovely food, friendly staff good area to work in, nice bar area could get a drink without going out of hotel, convenient parking, Room had Adjoining door so sound from next room loud, creaky floor boards in room above. Would have like to have been able to open window for fresh air

Location, spaciousness, sea view, generosity of management in conceding the point about the breakfast which I was convinced I had paid for! The online booking set-up which led me into booking a more expensive room that I really wanted that was apparently room-only and not b & B.
