Royal Cambridge Hotel

Er valt in geen enkele zin nog maar iets positiefs te vertellen over dit hotel. Aan de receptie zijn we gaan klagen over de staat van de kamer, maar ze konden ons niet verderhelpen. Als we niet zo een nood hadden aan slaap waren we hier zeker vertrokken. Ik snap niet dat dit hotel 3 sterren krijgt. Nog nooit zo een slecht hotel gehad en we raden ook iedereen ten zeerste af hier te overnachten.

Het begon al bij de check-in. Bij het binnenkomen was er niemand aanwezig voor ons in te checken. Na 15 minuten kwam er dan toch iemand te voorschijn. Na het verkrijgen van onze sleutel kregen we te horen dat onze kamer op het vierde verdiep lag en dat de lift niet werkte.

Not sure the room could quite be called an 'Executive' double

walking away from it

lobby, staff, broken lift. many corridors and stairs narrow. revolting breakfast, no service, tv with 2 remotes, heating that was off. decor of room. no telephone that worked. tea and coffee... just there to obtain a star... but bare minimum.. powdered dirt for coffee and dandruff for milk.

The only good thing about this 'hotel' was the receptionist (Mr.Wan) who was competent and very friendly. He should be given some extra payment for absolutely amazing behaviour in that stressful situation.

The experience with this hotel was absolutely horrid. On arrival we were informed that the manager of the hotel cancelled our reservation without letting us know whatsoever. Finally they found a room for us-it was in the basement, without any window, next to the staircase thus very noisy and dodgy. The bathroom was dirty and shabby. The lift was extremely slow.

The room was acceptable to sleep in,

Not all the lights worked, the tv was in black & white and could not hardly be seen, the hairdryer was broken, the sink was cracked and had no plug and the bath was cracked but the shower was very powerful. The breakfast was non existant unless you only liked cornflakes, orange juice, apple juice and thin white bread and butter.

it was easy access to major attractions

My room was very dirty especially the bathroom inside: the wash-basin and the shower were old and yellow of dirtyness and the floor was broken. In the room 2 bulbs were broken and the light in the room was given by lights in the bathroom. The lift was always out of order you had to do always the stairs.
