Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, health and leisure facilities.
Room was smelly upon arrival, hotel appeared dirty and outdated. When we sat down for breakfast the table cloth was dirty, with crumbs, hair and stains. The hot breakfast was cold and the fresh juice was warm!
Our room could not get any wi fi
Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Staff at reception were pleasant as were the bar staff. Good choice at breakfast.
Overpriced food for what you get and the food wasn't the greatest quality. After a long day there was no hot water to have a shower and the bathroom needed a good clean!
The location was wonderful. The room was comfortable with plenty of storage space. The breakfast set me up for the day and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I can honestly say that I found nothing to complain about. The hotel catered for families, cycling parties, couples and wappeared to be treated well.
Ideally situated for me - however I was in a refurbished room - very stylish in black & silver. Shower was good. Breakfast was good
It was only when I got out of the shower I realised there was no mirror in the room - I had to knee on the bed to dry my hair trying to peer in the mirror on the door of the bathroom cabinet. there was also no glass in the room for a drink of water - not pleasant out of a cup. Although I was here on holiday I have to stay in touch with work etc. I had absolutely no wifi and upon complaining I was told it was good in reception - sorry not good enough - a walk across the car park to answer an email is not on. the mobile signal was also intermittent. Although the shower was excellent I thought I had booked a bath. Although refurbished it had been done in a hurry with no gloss on the paint work, temp room signs no hand rail on the stairs & I would have liked a lock or code on the outside door as I did feel vulnerable. There was no info in the room on meal times, fire procedures or leisure facilities. The one evening meal I had looked wonderful but was so greasy the chips were just mush (cod & chips) and I left the majority of it - removing the cod from the batter. Three meals round about went back or were left.
Good location. Staff helpful.
Tired - TV has seen better days.
Standard of catering was poor ordered Lamb Shank got Lamb Chops. Everything was old needed updating. Even the television came over with Noah it was so old. Considering what we paid against others would expect decent view not the car park.
Everything else very overrated
The first room we got had no hot water the upgraded us to another room which was better but when we went to bed we found a beetle in the bed and the room was very cold my partner had to sleep with a cardigan on the breakfast was awful I would not use this hotel again
Good size rooms and staff were great.
Nothing to dislike.
Location, bar area and leisure facilities.
Wi-Fi isn't strong enough to reach some rooms, or even the main bar area
location staff food the look and feel of the hotel Will be back soon
11am check out all outside areas catered for smokers i.e. ashtrays on every table, no clear areas/table for non smokers to sit
Did not like the price of three course meal. Don't believe a three course meal is generally required when travelling. More cost friendly option required.
Comfy bed -in fact 2 of them ! Lovely surroundings. Bar food excellent. Resteraunt food good. Bar and reception staff excellent.
Tv small and low down. Noise from wedding spilling out into bar -should have closed the doors To ffunction room.
Food was excellent. rooms very comfy.
TV was old and very few channels. hot water was a bit hit and miss.
Staff was very helpful, good breakfast and dinner
Located along a very busy road, which makes it slightly unpleasant to approach by bicycle.
The food was excellent, the room was lovely and one of the most comfortable hotel mattresses I have ever slept on. The views from the rooms were great. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
In the bathroom we had a walk-in shower, which was requested, unfortunately the floor of the bathroom was slippy when wet and there was no ant-slip mat in place and the second person to use the bathroom in the morning nearly fell over slipping on the damp floor.
We loved everything about this hotel. The location was very good, the hotel and facilities were excellent and Nicola on reception is an excellent ambassador for this hotel - her overall demeanour was first class and her local knowledge was excellent.
Location. Helpful staff. Clean
We requested a room with view and were given room overlooking car park which for three night stay was not good enough. The bedroom was very old and tired. We were informed of forthcoming re furb but in our opinion rooms should have been closed until done. Heater and heating didn't work. Another mobile heater was brought, that went wrong too. Duvets old and lumpy. Television not tuned properly. Telephone didn't work. Shower didn't do much more that dribble. Loo seat loose.
Great location and views from the room.
Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.
I had the vegetarian breakfast but the tomatoes were hard, the fried bread was burned on the edge but not cooked in the middle and the sausage was not pleasant.
Flexibility when room offered was not really ideal solved the problem quickly and satisfactory
Roof light window in room D2 allowed water into the room when open during heavy rain
Coffee at breakfast
Warm swimming pool. Friendly staff. Charming lay out of rooms. Comfy beds.
Bathroom - toilet very temperamental to flush, bath very narrow, overhead fixed shower with pathetic flow and changing temperature, no shelves. The whole of the bathroom needs modernising. Could not see in dressing table mirror as too dark. We ate in the "pub" - poor quality pre prepared food, cooked in stale oil. No salad options.
Staff very welcoming and helpful.
