Best Western Derwent Manor  

Room was cold and radiator did not work had to change room, basic food in the hotel bar was to expensive (£14 for basic pasta) No Worcester Sauce when ordering a tomatoe juice. Service was not helpful, did not offer alternative just confirmed "there isn't any".

arrived for checkin at 3.00pm but was made to wait until 4.45pm before were given our room.water from bathroom taps was orange.

Spa, though towels could be larger, didnt quite dry us. Pub & restraunt, friendly staff, size of room good service

Toilet didnt flush properly. Could get heating rails on, so bathing suit's still wet next day, plus it was a bit chilly on the night. Both hot taps in theladies toilets in the Grouse and claret didnt work, so had to wash hand in cold water. Price was very expensive for dogs to stay, wonder how much the hotel is losing due to that, as £5 is the most we have paid in other hotels across the country.

Excellent location for tourist visit to North East. Friendly efficient staff. Room clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again but would ask for a room without a connecting door.

Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Spa facilites were good. Room was clean and comfortable. Quiet Location.

Price of food in bar was very expensive £6.25 for a sandwich!!!! Too far away from any other places to eat therefore left with little option but to eat at the hotel. 3 course meal limited choice and both main courses had to be sent back as were under cooked. Breakfast was not a great standard and the dining room was too hot on both days.

Great for our requirements which was an overnight stay; Room (a double) was good; location good. Would have no qualms in recommending this establishment to others. Everyone very helpful and pleasant.

Menus (choice of meals) was a bit of a disappointment (both Bar and Restaurant); otherwise, food itself was OK (the Bar). Clearly built before "accessibility" was a requirement, would like to think the Hotel will help if you discuss this issue at the time of booking.

Internet was poor on 1st day but staff sorted it out. Lovely location.

Too Wedding-y for me as I wasn't there for that reason, felt a bit weird being there for that reason.

Everywhere was comfortable,especially the bed,staff very friendly.overall very clean and a very nice stay.would definitely go back.

Meals were over priced in my opinion,for what you got,but that was in the hotel pub,didn't try restaurant .maybe next time.

The layout was well disposed in relation to the bar and eating areas. With traditional almost Dickensian frontageto the bar and sumptous layouts in the main halls for dinning or company functions I think this will appeal to a lot of people and companies. The exterior boasts a wonderful panoramic view of the countryside and in terms of price it represents good value. Well done to all the staff who make you feel so welcome, would I return again - most definitely, .

Everything from the warm welcome at reception the lovely clean well designed bedrooms. Excellent food and efficient friendly service at Dinner and Breakfast and qaulity food. All that and great value for money. We will def be returning.

We stayed because my son had chosen the Derwent Manor for his wedding reception. My daughter was married there in 2005. my daughters wedding reception was well managed by Mary Kennedy.

My son had a number of problems and will comment directly to you. I had 2 reservations, one for my wife and myself and the other for my daughter, son in law and grand daughter. They live in Spain. At check in, they didn't have a room for 3 guests allocated to me for my daughter and family. The online room allocation was changed upon production of our printed confirmation. First impressions are what counts and the hotel failed. Furthermore, our arrival from the church was approximately 2pm and earliest check in time of 3pm was rigidly enforced. Very very unsympathetic. The wedding was organised with quite a few children and there were some family children who needed room access but were denied. To compound problems, 3pm was also the agreed time for guests to be called to the wedding breakfast so guests were either late for the wedding breakfast or struggled with buggies, luggage and baby equipment . Not at all helpful.

I made a mistake and booked hotel for wrong night. The recception staff although their hotel was full found us another Best Western hotel at a very good rate. The receptionist negotiated the price from £150.00 to £85.00 for us. 5star treatment over and above the call of duty.THANKYOU SO MUCH
